a popular misconception about tickets and loyalty points

My point is:

Always been to the away Boxing Day fixture, last season I couldn't?
Been to Fulham 4 times in my time, this season nope.
No Away derby anymore.

Feel like Iv never had an issues if I wanted an away ticket, now I'm always unsure? Iv not changed my game attendance habits. I remember in jan last season I went every game home & away as people couldn't afford right after Xmas.

So over that space of a season either fans who had the points are either going, selling on or our allocations are smaller? Either way I appear to struggle sometimes!

Are you in all 3 cup schemes? did you go to villa at home? Have you ever been in the cup schemes. You may have fallen behind for this reason alone.

games = points.
its as simple as that. rocket science it aint.

whether they go or not is up to the individual, the money, the time and the effort has to be available to that person and if it is they need to use them on watching city.

we have enough games in all comps at all times and at all prices for most people to attend, the ones that say thats not true are probably on here trying to get to the dam.

Iv joined everything for the last 2 seasons, even the carpark which is an extra £150 to get the points. We've to oldham & community shield and real away etc etc.

I'm not moaning so much, just at one time I didn't seem to have a problem, maybe for the derby! Although went to the semi that time.

I feel I'm on the edge of pack so to speak! Maybe allocations have dropped? More are going who had the points but didn't go every game?

Loyalty points are fantastic.

3 cup schemes joined=600pts,on platinum 20pts per extra cup game at home.40pts for every away.

Why shouldn't a platinum member get more than a gold when they have paid for the privelage? If that means you gain more points giving you more chance of away tickets then so be it. That's life.

A lot of interesting and thought-provoking points on this thread - but bear in mind another -
A platinum member on all cup schemes = 200 points for the league cup scheme + 20 points for one match this season = 220 points
A gold member not on the cup scheme = 190 points (seasoncard) + 10 for this match so the platinum member earns more points for one match than the gold seasoncard for the season !

With regard loyalty points
My daughter (15) now has 6130 loyalty points.
I have never had a problem getting her tickets for away games (except utd) as the ticket office seem to promote taking children as they are the life blood of our club.
It seemed though, that they were very keen to tell me that from the age of 16 she will obv be classed as an adult, so i wont be able to claim a ticket for her. at this point will she now not be able to go to most away games, because her points will be too low.
She has been a season ticket holder from the age of 9 and is probably one of the few children that has seen us beat utd twice at their place.

Is this fair ???

agree with most of that but don't agree games = points we are going to as many games as we can and clocking them up at a rate of 10 per game !the truth is SEASON TICKETS AND CUP SCHEMES = enough points to get to any aways !all we can get is 190 points for all homes what ever the cups give us and our blue points so probably about 300 points a season! so no use what so ever when everything goes in the ooo,s

exactly right.

Cant be exactly right as we aint played leeds or Millwall since loyalty points came in.

wrong actually, leeds played the first season at the etihad, and millwall away was the year away fans were banned and they awarded loyalty points for the screening at maine road, i never got any, i went to the new den.

I bought the screening ticket (a fiver i think?) and gave it to a fellow Blue as I went to the game at the New Den, just wanted to keep my points total intact at the time (10 points?). Originally bought those Millwall tickets through Ticketmaster, but they cancelled my order, along with others, who had Manchester area postal addresses. Contacted a Blue who was working in Kent, and he went to their ticket office and bought four seats over the counter. Still not worked out how many of us got in that night (ticket availability down there wasnt a problem), suspect somewhere between 50 -100 Blues dotted about the three sides of the stadium being used. Memories.........:-)

although harsh if its the rules for everybody and you were aware of it then yes its fair. there will be many other 16 year olds on much fewer points than your youngster, they will get nowhere near some games, she's put the time in so thats also right and proper.

The simple fact is now we have become more successful as a Club then more supporters want to come and see us. Take me as an example. I haven't been to a league away game for a considerably long time, i do go to cup away games as i enjoy the atmosphere and craic more for some reason. Me and the lad are seriously considering attending more away league matches in the future because we are concerned we might be falling behind amassing our loyalty points. I suspect given whats been happening this season for games like Madrid, Ajax & Fulham away more people are of the same mindset. I predict next season will be even worse and demand will just keep going up and up. So add two more to the clamour for away tickets. I suspect that as a result of my considerations then there might be two people further down the loyalty points list who may have been successful for certain away games in the past might now struggle. I am on 6635 points now and realise that there will be a large number of away games i won't qualify for.
