i didn't half as many cocky gob shites singing Mun*ch songs all day in Madrid, and our support was the best i have ever heard in the ground!

I only see positives really - yeah I heard people moaning about having to go and get their ticket but we are over there anyway with time in our hands - no big deal and it solves a number of other problems

Like other blues when I got to the collection place I did not fancy the length of the queue and I took refuge in a bar soaking up some rays (and Mahou) until it went down - no hardship that

Sorry not for me. Spent over an hour waiting to get in to the building to be told in no uncertain terms ,No letter no ticket before i could even give an explanation.I had my season ticket and supporters number so this jobsworth should take 2 mins out of his 3 day paid jolly to go and check.I was lucky one of the lads i was with knew a girl out of the ticket office who took the season tickets and came back to us in 2 mins with a slip of paper with a number on and hey presto.

Where were the stewards that were meant to be lining the route from the metro station? Only saw one who was over the far side of that crossroads/roundabout who was out of sight anyone leaving the station. Half a morning of a our stay taken up with picking up our tickets. The over the top process of showing passport, tickets and wristbands seemed to me a contributing factor the the congestion outside the ground prior to the game. I managed to suss out how to remove the wristband without damaging it which goes to show its not a foolproof system.

There are too many sensible comments on this thread supporting the ticket collection system so I am typing quickly before the thread is pulled. As Ja Salford said there were less dickheads and I spoke to loads of Blues throughout 3 days and not one of them would change it, all agreed it was allowing supporters the chance to get there own ticket from the club.
Just because the Spanish thugs did not check the ticket and wristband means that certain serial moaners can rant away.

Speaking to a lad last night who works for the FA, United were the first to introduce this system of ticket collection for two reasons. The first was to prevent the ticket whoring and passing on of tickets to anybody who wanted to go to a match, thereby enabling those fans who miss out to get tickets, the second, which was a consequence of being able to monitor the purchase, was to reduce or prevent issues in and around stadiums (trouble), and or deal with them more effectively, whether that be retrospectively or at the time, as the authorities now know who has bought the ticket and who is in the stadium. It was introduced because the Rags were causing loads of trouble. It appears elements of our fans are no angels either, and it was apparent that a lot of the issues were caused by fans who acquire tickets from the whores. So, its been imposed on us by our club, and fans amongst us are to blame. Many fans have complained to the club about trouble and ticket whoring, they've listened and implemented the system. Its here to stay, we're going to have to get used to it, accept it, and maybe have a better experience with fewer troublesome problems.
