A remarkable 9 years ago today!

Also remember Huth should have been sent off. One time you wish VAR existed as it was 100% a red.
Yes, he had a go at Balotelli thinking he'd get him to retaliate and be sent off, fortunately Mario kept calm. City should have been 3 up by half-time and then as others have said Joe Hart made that save.
Also remember pissed-up idiots kicking off a bit with five minutes to go till someone shouted bloody stop it, City's about to win the Cup.
Great day and weekend with family all together once again.

In the hazy afterglow of Wembley I kept replaying the Kenwyne Jones chance in slow-mo the next day.....it bobbled and bounced around between the legs and arms of Hart and Jones for a split second....every time I stopped and started the the incident I thought ‘how the fuck did it stay out’ at any point in those previous 35 years our bad luck would have meant it would have trickled over the line somehow.

We huffed and puffed all game but it simply didn’t seem to click in front of goal. The pressure of 35 years weighed heavy in the final quarter of the game every rare Stoke foray into our half scared me to death.

Willing and hoping that we would put the ball in the net by any means I shut my eyes tight creased over and wished for something to happen in the build up.

Several oohs and aahs later and a cannonball shot from the glorious Yaya sent us blues into raptures.....quite unbelievable! I stayed in my own World for a few seconds still bent over waiting and listening for any groans from a Lino’s flag or similar but thankfully it never came, our kid thinking I’d had a heart attack checking if I was okay.....I then plucked up to stand up from my seat with the courage to witness the celebrations for my self.

‘Who scored it?’ I said.....

‘Yaya’ was his reply

Of course it was fucking Yaya.....our new God.

I'd have been delighted with one league cup so its worked out pretty well

said in the last league cup final win to my lad we are now a winning machine. its a well oiled machine and runs smooth and there is plans for everything and players know how to win in big games. the control city have is crazy and other teams and players and managers would just buckle under the amount of pressure but city just roll up and take the prize home

the take over on transfer deadline day and the money and big money superstars signing at the time was mouth watering and a joy. but the reality thing did not set in until mancini was given the job. and we got serious and started to think about the plans and winning silverware

i still say this to this day and would stand by it right now ?? mancini would have won the champions league by now if city did not change the plans and sack him ? but the difference in the club now under pep was the right choice back then. i don't think city would have won more silverware under mancini but champions league would have been next big push after the fa cup and premier league wins at the time under mancini

The thing I remember is buying a ticket for £250 and then seeing how easy it was to jib in sick as a parrot
