A reply to Mancini's MEN advert in La Gazzetta Dello Sport

The Telegraph have mentioned this (in passing).

This in an article about Pellegrini.

"A large section of City supporters continue to bemoan the dismissal of Mancini, with some aiming to raise funds to pay for a ‘Grazie Mancini’ message in an Italian newspaper".

Totally misrepresents what this is about.

I know what you're saying about that. Its about the manner of the sacking as much as anything. I am still a bit disgruntled, though.

Just on the email that people are receiving, have all these gone out as I haven't had one. I'm only wondering as I don't want my donation to have not gone through properly.

I haven't got one yet either, I assume he has a lot to get through.

Its just occurred to me how good this is going to look on Bobby's CV. I know his CV is bloody impressive anyway but still and all, this will still enhance his reputation in the land of his birth.

Know 'em dead, Bobby Manc, wherever you go next.

Yeah thought that mate, wasn't sure if there was an automated one that went out to everyone who donated or not.

I'm not happy about the way things were done, but this is nothing nore than a thanks for his contribution.

Its a 100% positive thing, and that makes out its a sort of a protest against the club.

Yep nice bit of negative spin there. Hopefully if it does get more than passing comment, they'll ask. This is a quote from the only media outlet news blog thing I've seen ask [Adam]...

Since Mancini's departure stories have emerged of unrest in the Manchester City camp under the Italian - however Keyworth says that regardless of how Mancini presided over City, the club's fans wanted to thank him for delivering such historic success.

"I think the feeling is that we never properly got to say goodbye," he explained.

"This is not a motive to express any opinion on the rights or wrongs of his sacking, merely a thank you for the best three years of many of our football supporting lives as City fans.

He added: "We don't believe that this is about the way he has been portrayed. No matter what went on behind the scenes, this is a thank you for what he gave the fans. And the advert he took out in the MEN was a fine act from a fine man."

And this is what I meant. We couldn't express our thanks in the usual way because they sacked him with immediate effect but we found a way, which is excellent.
