A s**t away end full of tourists

Thanks for the insight, Pep.
It all makes sense now, sack the board!

Khaldoon and Soriano would have given Pep(me) a very good reason why the £100mill+ transfer profit wasn't going to be spent on a new and second striker, when Alvarez was sold, a new holding midfield player to cover for Rodri, etc in the Summer.

The board wouldn't sack themselves for making a decision like that. Only Sheikh Mansour can do that via Khaldoon, and Sheikh Mansour isn't going to sack the board.

The thing is engagement with supporters is completely separate to rinsing supporters for profits.

I hate scousers, but compare how Liverpool run their ship. They are worse than City with some of their tactics for squeezing their support for cash, but they have their beat journos wrapped round their fingers to an avoid negative press. After the Paris champs league final they made very public their complaints. They got their MP stooges like Ian Byrne involved. If there is tragedy chanting they make public statements immediately, and they engage with Spirit of Shankly etc.

They have Tony Barrett, a scouser that used to be the LFC beat journo for the Times, running their communications team.

They make the supporters know they have got their back despite ripping them off.

We have radio silence all year round. Our mob said fuck all about Istanbul. They’ve never once said anything to our supporters about 115. No support in history has had to deal with the shit we have from the media and other supporters due to 115 on a daily basis yet not once has there been anything said to keep the support onboard.

We have a a CEO that to my knowledge has not said anything to any British media outlet or even our own internal media since the day he joined.

The Barca 8 example on Sunday was yet another fuck up. It’s gone viral round the world with millions of views and thousands of ‘plastic’ comments with silence from City.

No doubt tomorrow there will be a big group of empty seats in the South Stand behind the goal right in the best spot for tv cameras to pick up to get the rest of country sniggering.

It would be so easy to fix it but nobody at City is interested.
Been a blue for 60 odd years and off the pitch I am losing faith and love for the club

I totally agree with everything you have posted. And it won't change.

It's mad that the club have got so much right on the pitch but off it in terms of fan engagement and ticketing they're nothing short of a joke.

I like to think our board have a lot more class than most. Especially the dippers.

I'd rather our board said fuck all than engage in the mawkish nonsense that the fenway weirdo's get up to in order to curry favour with the victims.

Of that there is no doubt.

But our board doesn't engage with City fans like the Liverpool board engages with Liverpool fans.

Nobody can understand why that is happening. And why the board have chosen to do that.

That's no excuse for them not speaking out about the Istanbul fiasco. None whatsoever.
The problem is that these board pronouncements start to lose impact if overdone.

There was a lot of independant coverage of the Istanbul issues, there wasn't really any need for our board to say anything.

No-one listens to the likes of FSG or The Glazers/Ratcliffe outside their fan bases because they say nothing of substance. Everyone knows that they are just playing to the gallery.

I'll judge our management on actions, starting with what happens in Jan. If we fail to bolster the squad with suitable players I'll question them. Now is the time to take some action, the new Dir of Football can/should be involved in that so no excuses about Txiki leaving.

Actions not words are what counts.

If the club decides to carry on rinsing the fans (like they all do) but doesn't see fit to use the recent financial success (including all the money raised by winning stuff), and fail to provide a full genuine world class playing squad they we can all draw our own conclusions.

The experiment of relying on our academy to produce players ready to go in PL/CL has failed (it always was going to). There has to be a balance and we've got that wrong in recent years. There's no denying it.
