A s**t away end full of tourists

I hope it happens. I'm really hoping we form a supporters union, to challenge the club aggressively.
Nothing will happen.

We are that successful and a huge global brand nowadays, that the club knows that the demand for tickets far outweighs the supply 10 fold over.

we can protest all we want!!

Just look down the road at what the rags have been doing for years. Green and Gold scarves, breaking into the ground, bedsheets with messages. And what has happened there. Fuck all.

We are the minions in all of this.

Sadly, I agree with you.

But still believe our voices need to be heard. I saw one suggestion that a boycott that doesn't risk our season tickets would be scan our season tickets and not go through the turnstiles, or stay on the concourse for the game leaving 1000s of empty seats, particularly in the south stand.

Can't see it happening though, although I would partake if requested to do so by one of the of the fan groups.

Does it? Why are we struggling to sell out games then?

Without our core support attending it’s really noticeable in the ground. It’s only going to take a season or two of no success for all the glory hunters to F off as well

Let’s just not protest then.. do nothing. Protests never make a difference - £30 away tickets, safe standing, the super league..fans made the difference.

Liverpool fans walked out a few season ago and they scrapped a ticket price rise

Ironically, Barça’s ‘Ultras’ boycotted the second half and didn’t return to the stands after they saw their arses that about 40,000 Eintracht Frankfurt fans attended the Camp Nou for their Europa League ¼ final a few years ago.

I’m sure the guy who posted it was passing on information he’d heard in good faith. But I find it very hard to believe they’re seriously considering ditching ticket transfer.

They’ve put a lot of effort recently in trying to get as many people as possible actually in the ground. Pushing the exchange and the flexi tickets.

This would inevitably lead to many more empty seats at every game.

I don’t even see what they’ve particularly got to gain from it, apart from seriously pissing off a lot of hardcore fans.

Short story.
Old Trafford a few seasons ago.
Tourist in the away end comes into the toilets wearing a half and half scarf.
Half and half scarf is ripped off his neck and thrown into the piss trough.
Half and half scarf is continuously pissed on and stays in the piss trough.
Tourist gets the message.
Tourist won’t do it again.

Can’t understand what’s wrong with tourists, isn’t that what happens when you become successful as a club?

And, won’t those tourists fill those extra seats in the extension, spending loads in the club shop, advertising our club across the globe?

Or do we want our club to stay pure Mancunian, forgetting about the global PL economy?

Haven’t you read the last 81 pages?

I’ll leave it at that.

It’s too late at nightbto explain about 8 Barcelona fans wearing Barcelona shirts in the City away end at Liverpool.

Some City fans.(rolls eyes)

Our legendary away following is being laughable. Cameras galore, unconnected club shirts, flags [you can't show national flags, if a hint of political trouble] etc, half and half tourists blah blah blah.

Been to Anfield many many times and that was the quietest we have ever been. And that's not just down to form or results. Disjointed and lost away following. Saturated by commercial followers.

Looks like some fans have assumed the position already, or they can afford all the extras so aren't particularly bothered about what other lifelong fans can afford.

Unbelievable Jeff!

81 pages, and as you say, some City fans are still questioning what the problem with tourist support is, who don’t support City, but put money into the club.

Four or five years ago I managed to get into Old Trafford as a guy I knew on security stopped a lad going into the away end with a United top, the lad wasn’t aware of the implications of what he was doing as he was not from these shores but like people have said it’s going to kick off at some point and the clubs duty of care to the fans attending will be seriously called into question - all for a few quid

The Barca 8 has caused some issues at the club

It is being looked into

I had a message from someone who works there saying it has caused trouble at the club

I've heard they are looking into why it was only 8 who tutned up instead of the 16 the club sold !

Every time this thread gets bumped I read the title as terrorists and expect it to be a mildly racist commentary on our new support. Glad it's just tourists.

Been a City fan for nigh on my whole life as I remember it, my dad took us to City games before I remembered the game. The good, the bad, the ugly, it’s all part of it.

Of course, I want our club to stay as close to home as possible but with what our owners have done, it’s only right that others get the bug.

The question is, why are we moaning when we have people enhancing our club around the globe?
