The fucking hanging bogs in piccadilly gardens and all the tramps leathered on the lawns
And about 30 phone boxes around each corner of the gardens.
We had an 'outdoor' at our pub on Regent Rd, all the old dears off Regent Rd flats would bring big old beer bottles, jugs and even flower varses in to be filled up with beer, i loved the early 70sde niro said:all the pubs that had an "outdoor", a name that we ended up giving to all off licences.

I was a kid in the 1980's. We used to call the Victoria Wine the outdoor. My Aunty had an off door on Eccles New Rd.,that sold bitter from hand pumps for people who brought in jugs. When it was demolished we had the bar and hand pumps in our house and my uncle has it in his garage, waiting for me to stump up the money to ship it to Aus.;probably never happen:(.mcfcinprague said:blue underpants said:We had an 'outdoor' at our pub on Regent Rd, all the old dears off Regent Rd flats would bring big old beer bottles, jugs and even flower varses in to be filled up with beer, i loved the early 70sde niro said:all the pubs that had an "outdoor", a name that we ended up giving to all off licences.
My Mum and Dad had an off-licence on West Park Street (off Trafford Road). They used to sell Greenhall's on draft to people who came in with jugs etc.
And they sold home made Vimto ice lollies too
My Mam and Step Dad ran a pub on Robert Hall St also off Trafford Road, after that it was one on Regent Rd, not daft my parents it was a big drinking area due to the proximity of the docks, they were offered one on Irlam 'o' the heights but turned it down, the Salford women liked their 'mild' in them daysmcfcinprague said:blue underpants said:We had an 'outdoor' at our pub on Regent Rd, all the old dears off Regent Rd flats would bring big old beer bottles, jugs and even flower varses in to be filled up with beer, i loved the early 70sde niro said:all the pubs that had an "outdoor", a name that we ended up giving to all off licences.

kendals were on either side of the street so had a subway you could use rather than risk crossing deansgate.
it will still be there but I'm sure its block off once across the road. waterstones are on one side house of fraser the other.
