A34 flooded

Is it open yet?
Had to take a detour to the airport on Monday cos it was still shut in the morning.

Open again as of last night apparently, thousands of litres of water pumped out. Hope they bottled it up, the BBC reckons we'll all in the UK be experiencing regular water shortages within 25 years with climate change.

Wonder what they'll do to prevent it happening again? Given that they already delayed the opening of this new road by about half a year as they apparently forgot to dig deep enough for the drainage first time around, and are planning to build around 3000 homes on the adjoining green belt land?

Half a year ? 20 odd years ago, they started digging through my back field in Woodford then just sat on their thumbs.

social media reported this road open again last night , yet this morning the m56 motorway signs were still advising it was closed after the a34 !!!
does anybody actually monitor those signs and switch them off when things change???
