Aaron Wan-Bissaka (signed for United)

When you think about the sum we are willing to pay for Maguire. And the price Leicester demand. That's a pretty standard price.

If Wan-Bissaka ends up being their biggest piece of business this summer then I worry for their long-term future. If, however, he's part of a summer where they recruit someone like Bruno Fernandes or Eriksen on top of a couple of other signings, they might stay in the race for fourth. It's just about whether they'll now have to sell Pogba in order to sign someone to replace him.

I agree. Kyle Walker and Mendy both around that. AWB is not quite at their level but he's not far off. Good deal for Utd. The point I'd make to Utd fans though is to remind them what they have said about Citys spending. Quality costs.

Walker's better than him defensively. Don't let a couple of mistakes mid-season disguise that - Walker's defensive contribution to City is miles above what this lad does. Walker defends 90% of the time from halfway

Robertson too - just because he's good going forward doesn't mean he's a slouch when it comes to defending.

It’s a funny one this. As a prospect, he’s a great buy, young, homegrown and shown he has potential to be useful for a decade or more but he’s going to get badly exposed at United. They don’t have a right winger, so he is going to be expected to provide width for them and it’s already widely accepted he’s poor in possession. United fans will be on his back in a matter of weeks when he fails to offer any attacking threat I guarantee it.

Whilst he potentially solves a problem position for United, it’s not going to improve them anywhere near enough, they’d need another 7/8 signings of that calibre minimum and there’s no chance ed woodwoodwoodwood would sanction such spending. They’ve reportedly been given £100 million and whatever they can raise from sales, that’s half of it gone already.

The fee is ridiculous but that’s going to be the case with 90% of the signings this window, so I’m not going to slate it. money is no incentive anymore particularly to any club in the premier league so you have to make the fee obscene for them to even consider it.

Good defensively buts that’s not what they need. Darmian is good defensively too but they need a good attacking RB and AWB is very limited technically in that area.

Good signing for them, assuming he actually progresses. But let's be honest, how many of the other young prospects they've bought in the past 5 years have actually gone on to develop into stars? Luke Shaw was the best young full back in the country when they bought him. Martial was a world record for a teenager and doesn't seem to have massively improved in the four years he's been there. Rashford exploded onto the scene, but has kinda stagnated since then. Hell, not only young players. How many players that they've bought are actually better than before they went there? Lukaku? Pogba? Fred? Sanchez?
