He was a stop gap. Dont blow things up before Pep arrives and he didn't. Will always love Mancini for his time here but look at how it ended, wouldn't get that with MP. He did the job and left without any issues.
He kind of blew things up, though.

The squad was much worse when he left than when he arrived.

I guess. Like said he wasn't at the level we really needed but held it together and look how it improved under Pep. I know his first season was tough but you go from MP to Pep, thats a hell of a leap if you ask me

That’s true but it wasn’t on Manuel… The shit squad was the first incarnation of Txiki and Soriano playing it cheap…

I think the only player that managed to maintain his standard under Pellegrini was KDB, Even players like Yaya and Silva became so poor, at some point I thought I was watching Steed Malbranque play for us. Pellegrini was an atrocious manager, had nothing on Mancini
Yaya was on the beach for years but David Silva was never poor for City. Even when his ankle injury was at its worst he still put a shift in week after week.

I find it hard to believe that Txiki recommended replacing Dzeko with Bony, Barry with Fernando and signing Mangala....

He wasnt poor but he also had a bit of a mini-decline in his last season.
Remember loads of people were adamant that both Gundogan and Nasri would player over him in a Pep team

Didnt the french league get basically rinsed in terms of the broadcasting rights?

Im pretty sure clubs are making even less than last year from revenue.

The premier league is like the super league, many of these clubs will be desparate to sell their talent, and premier league clubs wont sell.

This one looks the easiest to do in January definitely. Think this happens. Hopefully in for Brentford.

That was as a result of the following factors:

- introduction of new players
- optimism and self belief from the players who believed in the project and
- The one factor that we all know but never acknowledge - Mourinho

But the most important factor was Stevie G. (Honourable mention - Eminem for the track "lose yourself" , the song that hyped up Stevie G up until he lost himself and his team the title in front of the entire world)

Had very little to do with Pellegrini's managerial skills. The only game I really enjoyed under Pellegrini was the 4-1 trashing we gave to the rags, Nasri was unplayable that day. All down to the players and not Pellegrini's predictable 65 minute substitutions.

This one was pretty decent:

You must have a short memory then, aguero managed 28, 32 & 29 goals in each season under him which were big numbers at that time. KDB only played one season under him.

3 trophies in 3 seasons and at the time took us the furthest we had ever been in the CL missing out on the final by a fluky deflected goal in Madrid. We were good to watch in his first season.

He was an obvious stopgap from the start and it got a little sour towards the end but I think he did exactly what he was meant to and was far from atrocious. Haven't got a bad word to say about the man.

Ridiculous take.

Atrocious managers don't win the Premier League title.

Pellegrini did what he was brought in to do. Keep the ship steady until Pep arrived. The first year in particular saw some fantastic football, possibly a better level of football than we saw under Mancini.

Unfortunately the least season saw him go with a bit of a whimper and we only qualified for the CL by the skin of our teeth. But overall he achieved what he was meant to.
