So you didn’t watch the 2013/2014 season then.

That was as a result of the following factors:

- introduction of new players
- optimism and self belief from the players who believed in the project and
- The one factor that we all know but never acknowledge - Mourinho

But the most important factor was Stevie G. (Honourable mention - Eminem for the track "lose yourself" , the song that hyped up Stevie G up until he lost himself and his team the title in front of the entire world)

Had very little to do with Pellegrini's managerial skills. The only game I really enjoyed under Pellegrini was the 4-1 trashing we gave to the rags, Nasri was unplayable that day. All down to the players and not Pellegrini's predictable 65 minute substitutions.

Yeah the 2014-2015 season but that wasn't down to any managerial tweaks from Pellegrini, He simply just gave Yaya a free role, no particular changes to his style of play, he just took the chains off.

Pellegrini's "managerial skills" actually revealed itself in his second season, as with most managers. I feel like that might be what we are witnessing with the dippers and Slot. The second season actually reveals the work the manager has done with the team.

I wouldn't judge him on his final season as there's a lot of debate if he laid down the tools due to the poorly timed announcement by Khaldoon and the boys from Catalonia, either way for me, Mancini > Pellegrini.

True and that's my fault but I was responding to another post from a user who mentioned the 2013 - 2014 season. Let's be honest Pellegrini won the title but without Slippy G that wouldn't have happened and his second season showed that he was out of his depth at City, he was a good man just not a great manager.

That 13/14 side was still the best attacking City side I've seen outside of the 17/18 team. The Autumn/Winter is up there with the most fun I've had watching any City team week to week. Could have watched Aguero, Yaya and Negredo bully sides forever and not got bored of it.

Pellegrini was never a top tier manager but atrocious is a bit harsh.

Stayed at city a season too long though.

And all the ‘charming man’ and ‘engineer’ shite wound me up. He was neither of those things.

He did have a civil engineering degree, so probably could be correctly described as an engineer.

Jovetic's brilliant double against the dippers and that curler against Chelsea still comes to mind. I really had high hopes for him.

He was a stop gap. Dont blow things up before Pep arrives and he didn't. Will always love Mancini for his time here but look at how it ended, wouldn't get that with MP. He did the job and left without any issues.

Crazy suggestion (don't shoot me down), I saw the video that highlighted this kid's pace. Maybe, just maybe Lens might be interested in cash + McAtee or Lewis loan deal and this kid could play RB similar to Gvaridol on the other end. Rico could get that much needed experience without the pressure of playing for a title chasing side (Yes I believe we are still in it), taking that pressure away could do wonders for his composure and confidence. Very FIFA-esque suggestion, I know, I know but still

No one is leaving this window. McAtee might be the only exception but we will see what his involvement is today.

Valuation isn't high for this kid we will just pay the price. Its just what competition we may have.

Players would love to join City. Best club in the world, best manager etc. But they know that minutes may be difficult and will be able to squeeze more wages out of other clubs.
