Abu Dhabi set for Blue Boom

We all appreciate that HRH Sheikh Mansour and his team saw the potential in City and the effect that such a high profile investment would have on the growth of Abu Dhabi, but I bet even he is surprised at the extent of the publicity. The battle with the rags for supremacy is pure box office for a worldwide audience but it is the fact that we share the same city that gives it the extra special spice. I'm convinced it was this point that persuaded ADG to invest in City ahead of other clubs.
Pre takeover I can't say that I was too aware of Abu Dhabi as an emirate and if someone mentioned the UAE my first thought would be Dubai, now Abu Dhabi is the place i think of first and the place i intend to travel to (no doubt with Etihad). I reckon I'm fairly typical of most other football fans so clearly the plan is working.

Not wrong, next time i go back to the UK, i will be flying with Etihad and will check out AD as well.

Had to cringe when she said that, lol....

We are becoming everything we would rip them about.

Oh well, I have a few seasons I reckon of being able to afford my Seasoncard - then I'll have to hand it over to this woman's Husband, who used to support United.
Thats when football in this city dies, they can't market the club via the poznan and the like if there is nobody there to do it, or #together if we're all from different parts of the uk / globe. The one thing utd have done is priced out a lot of the working class manc's in favour of the prawn sandwich brigade, our owners can't let this happen to us

I'm in Thailand on holiday and insisted on flying with Etihad so we could call at Abu Dhabi on the way to Bangkok! Pre the takeover, it wouldn't really have mattered.

When you do, post your experiences on this forum (or in off topic) if you will, mate. I may be going to Sydney next March for work and the discount and the connection makes me think Etihad is the logical way forward.

But i'd still like to know if its any good, it's a long journey otherwise...

Sorry, mate, but my next planned trip is in 3 years time, for my 50th birthday.

Maybe you can give me a review, did Air China last time, NEVER again (I would rather walk).

And this is exactly why HH Sheikh Mansour bought City in the first place.
And exactly why he will be with us for a very long time. None of this "but what about when he gets bored with his new play thing" like the media seem to peddle out a lot, especially clowns like Irani.
The "plaything" argument is probably the most stupid of any that the media and rags keep going on about. The fact that he's only been to one game clearly demonstrates that it is a serious investment not a hobby.

Totally agree with why they bought us. It was a bet between the sheik playboys!! Still it has brought me untold happiness these past 2 seasons. We must sell as many 'old' merchandise as possible before we have a completely new strip & etc & al. Got some way before we have 659 million fans!!!!

The inconvenient fact that movers and shakers in the gulf are more likely to get rid of their teeth than any "glamour" asset because it would be a loss of face have also been ignored in the media for some reason..Can´t figure out why
