So which of the kids would improve this team?
Doyle looks the most ready, physically, but is he a better option than Gundo, Bernardo etc...????
Delap isn't going to get brought on ahead of Aguero, and whilst I've taken note of some outstanding performances from the like of McAtee and Palmer should they really be in the team?
The biggest error was not giving them a chance against Marseille. Now that WAS piss poor management.
 
Certain first team players keep letting him down and continue to be picked. Not saying the academy players is the answer but I can't imagine they'll be far worse than some of the seniors
 
Let’s face it, there is no pathway.
I have not seen a sensible answer to the question, “how come other teams who are desperate for top 4 and trophies are able to blood youngsters?”
LiVARpool, Rags and Chelsea have successfully done so in the last 2 seasons.
 
The more we struggle in the league the less chance there is of Pep actually giving them a proper go in the first team. I think a few of them need to go on loan in January. Chelsea sent the likes of Mount, Tomori, James and Gallagher on loan to the Championship and they all excelled. The only issue is we’ve been absolutely terrible at choosing the right loans for our players over the past few seasons.
 
So Liverpool have managed to beat Spurs with 3 academy players in the starting line up. We don't even see Foden in the big games.

People can make excuses they want about why they are not playing but if we had injuries around as well they still wouldn't of even got a look in
 
Forensic is the best to come through the academy and he doesn’t play regularly and when he does he is played on the wing when he is a midfielder. He was touted as Silva’s replacement but is never played in midfield. even Angelico never really got a chance and we don’t have a decent left back

I think that if the club really believe in the development of academy and younger players then this is the year.
Sell off 4 or 5 of the senior players.
Bring in 2 major signings, maybe a forward and left back.
Recall the best loan players or buy back clause players e.g. Angelino Douglas Luiz but only if they are going to contribute.
Supplement the squad with academy players.
There really is no need to have a squad with over 20 full internationals.
It is quite easy to have 2 academy players with the senior squad for 2- 3 months and having a different 3 academy players for the next 2-3 months.
