The players in bold would never have even made it even when we were shit apart from maybe nimely who I always thought was pretty good for the reserves. Mee, trippier, ibrahim and players in this bracket are all decent footballers but they would have struggled to make it even before our injection of wealth and now they have zero chance so have to be moved on.LoveCity said:A lot more will follow in the near future too - McGivern, Cunningham, Tse, Smith, Helan, Robinson, Elabdellaoui, Benali, Veseli, Nimely, Razak Nuhu... none of these have any sort of future at the club, most are now over 20 or nearly 20, and not even close to the first team. More than likely more highly regarded players of recent academy history like Weiss, Boyata, and Wabara have very little chance either. Bunn and Roman maybe have some chance but I'm not crossing my fingers. Guidetti, Abu, and Razak are the only ones who look to have a better than 50% chance at this stage out of dozens in the 19-22 age group who have been in the academy.
The U18s look promising but we say that about any generation, it really is impossible to tell until they start going out on loan at senior level. It seems that Suarez and Rekik, who we bought into the academy, are the most well thought of given their early promotion to first team training.
The older youths like weiss, warbara, boyata, abu, razak and guidetii looks good prospects and should be given a pre season to try and impress mancini and see if they are worthy of getting in our squad.
Also seeing players like sturridge, nedum and even ireland who are very good players does make me sad as imo they are better than certain members of our squad who cost us considerbly more.
The policy it seems we are adopting now for young players is buying the best talent around then either putting them in the u18s for a season or going out on loan as otherwise they wouldn't get any game time with no reserve league ( which hopefully we will re enter next season ).
