Well for one it’s not meant to. We reinvest into the playing side. And two, large wage bill and amortisation.Any idea why we would only post a small profit mate? Revenue huge, extra sponsorship etc but the model doesn’t make big profits?
Swiss Ramble's analysis of the figures is on Twitter now. Well worth a read, as always:
Well for one it’s not meant to. We reinvest into the playing side. And two, large wage bill and amortisation.
But don’t get the profit part wrong, they aren’t looking for large profits, they are looking to break even and have the best players.
How would we do that, on current turnover the only way would be to spend less or pay less either of which would weaken the team. Maybe if turnover increases, or we only need one signing / window, but as we can see from Sterling every time someone renews they look at those earning more around them, transfers for even 'prospects' these days are £40 mill upwards talk of £70 mill for De Jong. Thanks for the reply mate but why can’t there be both? With the money in football now can they not make £50-60m a year and still have world class players? Or is running it like this making the CFG much more valuable as a whole?
Wonder who will be dropped us or Arsenal as I'm sure they couldn't do both grounds under Prem & Uefa rules & regs.We could be looking for a new main sponsor as Etihad and Emirates could be joining up.https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...e-exploring-etihad-deal-to-forge-no-1-airline
