Accounts are out for 2017/18 - revenues over £500m, profit of £10.4m

Only 30m increase

Thought it would be more tbh

£500m is a headline grabbing figure but it’s not that much of an improvement on last years

Domestic TV revenue has plateued now so going to have go really start ramping up the commercial deals again

Etihad seemingly got put up but not by as much as we expected

Kit deal changes this year probably an extra £30-40million a year there

Still can’t believe we don’t have a training kit sponsor, Cityzens ffs
All in all you sound underwhelmed? You realise we’re only the 2nd English team to break £500m!

Presumably there''s a drop-off in CL income - one more home game but lots of England team matches dilutes one income pool, and 10% of the other country pot part instead of 20%.

Increase the stadium to 61,000, get some new sponsorship deals in and win either the Premiership or Champions League and we'd very easily break £600mil. Imagine if we were a selling club. I never want them to leave, but Jesus & Sane are easily £80mil+ and KDB is £150mil minimum. Never nice to have your best players leave but great to know how strong we'd be financially if one ever did want to leave.

Not really as it would cost a fortune to replace them.

Revenue was 454M last year, after adjusting for the 13 month year. There's few businesses that would not be happy with an 11% revenue increase.

If we wanted to make regular money from players in the future, it would from deals like Iheanacho's. £25m for a player who skirted around the first team for 2 years but didn't quite fit and wasn't going to be a world beater here, and if we'd not demanded a cheap buy back, it would have been more. Also squad players who don't massively contribute shouldn't be kept as long, player values basically halves when they hit 30 if you look at historical transfer fees.

I totally agree without strategy of selling fringe players and players who we sign and loan then sell. I don’t want us to sell Sane or Sterling or any other top player unless it’s in the club’s best interest.
