Accusation of Munich chants

I heard the usual "Munichs Munichs Munichs" at the end of If You Hate Man United Clap Your Hands. Dot know about anything else.

This goes on at every away game. It may only be a small group who do it but they do sing it. We can have thread after thread on this subject but it is still heard. If everybody on this thread is so against it, do something about it and let the culprits know it is out of order.

As said, it goes on every game... We'll sing the hate man united song, hundreds will sing it, then at the end maybe 4/5 pissed up knobs will shout munichs, munichs....

This is not a reflection of the majority of Blues as I will add: when guys have shouted this where I'm stood at home games, they've quickly been told to shut the fuck up! by fellow blues :)

That must be it because I did hear some of that, though not many were doing it. Nobody near me anyway. Heard nothing else of the sort. Needs stamping out though.

So it's established that maybe 10 or so did it, 10 too many but hardly representative of our general support

It is utter garbage. First thing i knew about the so called chanting was boarding the flight back to Luton and the sports writer for the Sun (Name escapes me) mentioned it was on Twitter. he even said he heard no such chanting

It's been established it happened by numerous blues on this thread unfortunately mate. However the danger is it's been blown out of proportion, a handful did it and not a large number of our fantastic support.

There were so little numbers doing it one could even suggest our fanbase was sabotaged by Rags.

As for as I'm concerned - those who sing munich shit are Rag scum anyway.

Shock horror munich song at a city game. This happens every game...

It is shocking and should not happen in every game. I know some will always try but it isn't acceptable and people need reminding that most of us blues are ashamed of it. Hopefully, as it did with me some years ago, the penny will finally drop and we can all move on.

The chants that hurt the most are usually the ones that poke fun with a bit of wit. No one likes to be laughed at and the best thing is, they can't complain to the media about us having a sense of humour. I appreciate the Alfie song isn't new but it is still no excuse, we need to change the word.

When we get good press coverage for things like the minute silence at the swamp or the Poznan, it kills them. When we chant Munich they love it because they (rag media) will drag our good name through the mud. Hopefully we will eventually learn that chanting Munich hurts us more than it does them.

Rant over.

Unfortunately it’s the uneducated. We got stung for it at Bburn away after the FA cup semi with a 7k strong rendition of “who put the ball in the munichs net”. And generally we’ve not done it since. It will always be a minority

People dont sing it to be disrespectful of the dead its a dig at united.
Not sure about this reasoning if I'm honest but that's irrelevant - whatever the intentions of the minority who sing it, it IS disrespectful to the dead and is perceived as such by the media.
It is no way near as bad as the scummy songs you lot sing.

Let's put this to rest once and for all.

I was there last night and, like many others who have posted on here, gave loads of stick to that evil cnut Keane, who was down on the near touchline doing the post-match interviews.

The only possible thing worthy of mention was after the typical "If you hate man United, clap your hands", when a handful (and I mean handful, nought point very little percent of the vast 4,000 strong blue army) added the "Munichs" word. Nobody around me in Sector 533 used this word.

The abuse that Keane got was personal and directed at him.

Munichs= Munich sympathisers, supporters who came from the length and breadth of the country and abroad to watch UTD after the disaster. This is the reason they are supported across the country now and by younger relatives of people who adopted UTD as their club. Apparently it was used as an endearing term in the early years after the disaster.

Stupid logic though.

Any City fan is a **** for singing Munich songs in the same way every United fan who sings about Hillsborough is also a ****.
