If Ivory Coast would've won it would've been worth losing the Toure's for a month, but because they lost on penalties in the final it was a waste of time?

It was a waste of time from the off, but it was one that we were never going to be able to avoid, at least if they'd have won it, they'd have had something to show for a month away.

So no disrespect to a continent's biggest competition then? Well that's ok then.

I personally have never cared that much for the English national side, partly due to club football allegiances and not liking some of the other players and/or the manager. I often have more interest though in other national teams.

from the player's perspective, I think it's all down to the individual.

I don't think Yaya or Kolo will be any the worse off for losing this final with regards to City; they're professional players and whilst their hearts were in this game and they gave it their all (even though Kolo missed his penalty) they'll be fine.. just don't say anything to Kolo about how fat he looks when he returns
