I was only saying that Johnson was looking faster then last season, when we played Notts County he was finding it hard beaming past their players so I think how shit or good the opponents are is irrelivant.

To answer your question OP pace is not something that can be taught, you either have it or you don't (slow twitch or fast twitch muscle fibres). Their fullback was slow which made AJ look faster than he is. Weiss on the other hand is rapid. Theres been alot made of AJ last night and a few negative comments but all it is, is game rust. He'll soon be firing for the Community Shield.

It doesn't matter that our players look like they could be improving some aspects of their game?

If friendlies didn't matter do you think they wouldn't bother with them then?

I just thought maybe AJ had not been taught pace (of course) but improved his stamina or something as his legs looked a lot faster then usual, but like you said it was probably due to their full back. I just think if AJ can improve on his speed our counter attacking game can improve a lot to like when we had Bellamy on the wing.
