Adam Johnson's Borrowed Time

It's been patently obvious for a long time he's not good enough. A good 10 minutes off the bench against tired opposition now and again is not enough. He overrates himself. I groan when I see his name on the sheet ahead of players like Milner.

Obviously there is a limit to how far this will go, and he won't get this kind of leeway forever

The thing is though i think a lot of people think he's reached that limit, in fact last season people were saying it too, and as i said, i stuck up for him and thought i'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but i'm starting to get frustrated with him.

We each have our own opinions.
Mine is that he's had more than enough chances to prove himself, but he simply isn't performing well enough, and he's showed no signs of improvement in his all round game.

He isn't good enough for City but will do a good job for a lesser team, we need to shake his hand say goodbye and get a top quality winger.

After seeing what he did today, wouldn't surprise me if we sell him in the summer.

He hasn't played well for a while now and Mancini rarely picks him.
Red Haze perhaps. Certainly not blue

Aguero and Mario could have gone off in 1st half too. Forwards were all poor. AJ went off as a tactical change which worked. Couldn't take a striker off as we needed goals.

AJ is as good a wide man as there is in the Premiership and will be vital in the run in. Where's your Nani?

Its pretty simple really. For a team to be successful you need pacy wingers both sides who can beat a man and get good quality crosses in. Our only 'winger' was found out a long time ago....

He be sold along with Milner in my opinion.

English players are just not good enough in general with the exception of a couple.
Ye but don't we need 8 "home grown players" in the squad. If AJ plays its always on the right so it's obvious what he's going to do, cut inside, maybe if he got a run of games down the left crossing in for Dzeko he may improve. I personally don't think he's good enough for our squad, I'd rather play Kolarov there.

This has been coming for a while you could see it last season too. AJ in his own mind is world class but unfortunately the reality is very different. Very rarely does he take a man on, tracking back & tackling are not in his vocabulary. He leaves whoever is at right back exposed and is more likely to go for glory than pass it.

He had a brilliant start for us when he joined but it's gone steadily down hill since then.
