Years back (pre-mobile phones) me and a mate got separated in Corbieres on NYE. I ended up roaming the streets to the safety of Kick-a-Cab and he got mugged on Oxford Road. There are some quite scary fuckers in Town after midnight and a lone drunken teenage lad, wet-behind-the-ears is an easy target.
I really hope this lad turns up safe, but the signs aren't great.

Many a night from between the ages 18-30 odd I've walked home from town, bladdered to fuck sometimes down canal paths, sometimes through dodgy as fuck estates but always ended up miraculously safe at home. Lost count of the number of mornings I've woke up and thought fuck me why did I do that or on a couple of occasions couldn't even remember how I got home. Their but for the grace of god and all that. The longer you hear nothing the worse you fear but lets just hope the kids safe somewhere.

I left home at 17 and spent a couple of years going out every night
I was quite sensible and was never left alone but it is scary what some kids get up to
I really hope for good news about this kid

When I was 21, I was walking home from a session in the early hours. This was around the time when everyone was drinking redbull and vodka all night. So you were pissed but wired at the same time. There was this building site on school lane in Didsbury (The old capitol theatre). I decided to climb the scaffolding and sort of break in. I found the builders portacabin and made myself a brew then fell asleep on the table in their canteen area. Woke up many hours later and noticed my hands were cut to ribbons. I could not fathom what made me go in there or why? I was literally 5 mins walk from my mums house? I tells ya, never leave a wandering lad pissed on his own.
