I never once said he had a bad game by the way but, he wasn't the best player on the pitch that's for sure.

He did ok but like I said he's no upgrade on Nico Gonzalez.

Wharton was u21 on 1st January this year - therefore counts as U21 for both PL & CL so has no impact on either squad.

There is one place left in CL squad and two in PL squad that Anderson could take - unless the PL one is given to Phillips who was left out in September.
 
Wharton was impressive today. Laid on some great chances and clearly has a great range of passes. Have watched more of Anderson who strikes more of a box to box player than Wharton. Do think we will go for one of them but not till the summer. If Rodri off think it will be Wharton and we will play with Nico/ Wharton combo assuming we can get him. If Rodri stays think we go Anderson to replace Kovacic/ Bernardo.
 
Too direct for how we play. Feels Anderson has more of an all-round game and would suit us better.

I do like Wharton as well though so wouldn't complain, I just feel he maybe would need to adapt his game a bit more than Anderson would.

Absolutely. Wharton strikes me as a player with enough technical ability to play for Pep and I think his coaching would help him develop further. Anderson, to me, is our next midfield colossus. He is big, strong and powerful but has the passing ability and vision to create from a deep-lying role. Of course, they are also both home-grown, another box ticked.
 
Can't see a world where we buy both and feel like Anderson is a lot more plug and play into our team right now. Until we know where we stand with Rodri, we won't be looking for more than one imo.
 
Whartons ability to find a pass first time is really impressive. With some runners like Doku and Haaland etc. he’d be laughing.

Also fairly solid in midfield but they play a different formation meaning has a bit more support.

Could clearly do a good job but I understand why some would want Anderson.

No way he leaves palace until after the season though.

Can’t believe you’re still going about this. In my opinion he was the best player on the pitch, in yours he wasn’t. Lovely. Can we get on with our days now?

He’s not a good tackler at all. He just had a field day against our non existent midfield. Reijnders isn’t on that list because he won ONE duel in 90mins.

I've just realised that this is inaccurate. I forgot that for a player to be on the CL B-List they have to have been with City for 2 years. So, Wharton would impact on the CL squad. We have one CL space for either of them (or any other HG player) we have one space for a CT trained player (like Morgan Rogers!)

Just saw the name and thought I'd mention that Pino looks a good player. Palace did well signing him from Villarreal for £26m - 23 years old and 19 caps for Spain, which shows he's got something.

A very good player, they've done so well in the market when you consider they were once reliant on Zaha then had Eze and Olise yet seem to get better year on year. He's not played much for them yet but that Uche they have on loan looks like he could be some player too.
