Massively overrated on here. Another Kalvin Phillips in the making. He had an ok game absolutely nothing special. Only people saying he was excellent are the obsessed few on here. Nobody from the media, MOTD or anybody else has raved about his so called excellent display.

Great tackle on Cherki for the Foden goal as well.

Good player but absolutely nowhere near where we want to be.

I'd personally prefer him over Anderson, I just think he moves the ball a lot quicker and does the simple things with ease. Put him alongside Rodri/Nico and I think it's a good balance.

Too direct for how we play. Feels Anderson has more of an all-round game and would suit us better.

I do like Wharton as well though so wouldn't complain, I just feel he maybe would need to adapt his game a bit more than Anderson would.

Adam Wharton ? Could he handle the BIG club tag that many of the so-called best midfielders have failed
Phillips looked like a different player from the one we watched at Leeds.

Sometimes it's a whole new ball game at Manchester City when you turn up, it's never easy to show you're good enough and if you're up against Rodri or Nico for a place, then it must feel like a 6ft brick wall you have to get over

Very Good Player for Palace because he's the top dog there and plays every week

I would say that their football will suffer this guys worse than Diego Simeone and Arteta combined. But he gets results

Playing style wise he is very far from Postecoglou, his teams is playing more similar in style as Atletico Madrid, but perhaps even dirtier, more defensive and more "dark arts".

Wharton looked technically good at the weekend. He picked the ball up nicely a few times turned as he received the ball and played a couple of good forward passes. I don’t think he got himself in the game enough to have said he had a great game.

Looks to me like a player with some obvious natural talent but needs a bit of work to be a top player. We have a few too many of that type of player, so I’d rather go for someone a bit more ready to hit the ground running. That being said if he signed him I wouldn’t be too upset about it!
