Adam Wharton

Rather have João Neves personally. To get back to the top we need to be getting the very best.

I do like Wharton, but nothing screams wow to me.

How do you suggest we afford him mate? No FIFA 26 but real life and PSG aren’t going to give us a good deal are they?

I think we could work something out. We've spent 500m since last January (most of that has been spent on quantity and not quality). It's not like we are poor.

We could always test the waters with him or Vitinha. The French league isn't someone's end destination.

We don’t be getting no one of their starters. Just hopes that will die in vain. There’s a no reason for a PSG starter to move

Neves is amazing, reports we were sniffing around him before that big move. Same with Enzo Fernandez but we have such a big scouting network.

Unfortunately can’t see PSG wanting him gone, they don’t need the money a the player has had a great time there so unlikely to push a move. We need to do what PSG have done and pick up a player ready for that jump

He certainly sees the forward pass very quickly and can execute it as well. Lacks the robustness of Anderson, but that skill and the weight of delivery would be manna for Haaland and Marmoush.
i could imagine Wharton joining if we sell Rodri

Wharton and Anderson duo might be alternative to Rodri long term

Pep seemed to be having a chat with him - one of them and an older more experienced player is what I think we need - Bruno G would be a great short term fix.

Rodri would be the perfect foil with his quality, experience and knowledge.

If we have the budget for it, we should definitely go get Wharton as well as Anderson. We need to replace Bernardo, Nico, Kovacic and potentially Reijnders and Rodri over this summer and next.

I imagine O'reilly might begin to take more central minutes, but still, big midfield reconstruction required.

He showed his strengths and weaknesses in that cameo last night. Some really good, quickly played passes.

Also went to ground unnecessarily (which he does a lot) and failed to win the ball allowing Cherki a free run forward to set up the 3rd.

Certainly wouldn't be against us getting him, but only if Rodri or Nico leave. Think Anderson is a more pressing need, and I like Fernandes at West Ham too. Really think we should go out and get 2 of the 3 if possible.

And I guess an interesting question would be, if Anderson might cost £90m but we could get Wharton for £60m and Fernandes for £30m (maybe, if relegated), then which would be the better option?

There's no chance West Ham would let Fernandes go for £30 million even if they get relegated.

Ive seen that figure mentioned somewhere, can't remember where, or if there's any chance of it being accurate.

I agree he's much better than £30m though!
