There's no chance West Ham would let Fernandes go for £30 million even if they get relegated.
Actually now seeing a lot of posts stating Fernandes doesn't have a release clause, so maybe previously there was an assumption that he had one. Sounds like there could be a bit of a bidding war over him this summer, so yeah, forget that price...!

Ive seen that figure mentioned somewhere, can't remember where, or if there's any chance of it being accurate.

I agree he's much better than £30m though!
He's worth a lot more than £30 million to them, I saw the figure of £84 million being banded about earlier this week for him. I mean if we can get him for £30 million it would be stupid to not get him as he's decent, but I just cant see it myself.

Don't rate him, came on and gave the ball away like 5 times. No physicality at all. A cultured touch in possession and ordinarily Palace rely on him for his through balls but too many weak points in his game.

More of a Billy Gilmour than a Vitinha for me. Much rather just play Phil deeper like yesterday than sign someone palpably worse both on and off the ball.

A midfield three of Rodri, Anderson and Foden is wonderfully balanced and dominates I think, similar to PSG's Vitinha, Neves and Ruiz. Get Cherki on the right where he can play closer to the box.

Not really. Wolves hadn't been relegated, West Ham likely to get relegated. Depends how much the player pushes.
Well, as I mentioned, Ait-Nouri only had a year left on his contract when we signed him, whereas Fernandes still has four years remaining on his deal at West Ham. That’s the key difference here. If you think we can get him for £30 million, fair play, but there’s no chance that happens.

probably stupid question but how good he is in a formation with back 4 and not back 5 (3 CBs)

His passing is phenomenal. First time, either foot, perfectly weighted. I really enjoy watching him play.

Same, but Anderson plays his best football slightly to the left, so I don’t see him as a viable option alongside him, only as a necessary alternative if we opted to sign someone like Valverde instead of EA.

Wolves let Aït Nouri go for £30m and he was one of their best players.
- Fernandes is a midfielder, RAN a left back
- Fernandes has 4 year on his deal, RAN had 1
- Fernades cost £38mil only a year ago (from a championship club, West Ham wil value him at a minimum more than what they paid), RAN cost £10mil
- Fernandes is 22 (in July) compared to 24 that RAN was when the season started

If anything youve just proven why £30mil for Fernandes is really unlikely

Dont expect it to be £70mil, think around between £40m-£50m gets it done

Not sure if you're getting forgetful mate, you yourself said we could get him for £30m. I've not said that, I simple stated Aït Nouri was sold for £30m. You posted this in another thread -

Agreed, 21, has huge potential and probably can get him for £30mil

Imagine half the league will be interested in him though... but with Bernardo going there is an opportunity

If Nico G goes with Bernie, and considering the uncertainty around Rodri and given his age and injuries...

Wharton and Anderson would be a very smart double signing, profiles of a 6 and 8, young, English, huge potential, no brainer to go all out. It'd be expensive, but worth it in the long term.

Real Madrid have been linked with Rodri and Florentino Perez won't accept the 2 year trophy less season since he lost Kroos. It makes sense for them to pay us for his 1 year left and fight proper next season.

Wharton future proofs us in this regards.

I still think defensively he has room to improve, but he is also so insanely young that I'd back him to develop better in this regard.

Liverpool apparently are in for him

i was thinking

he could work in tandem with Anderson under Maresca

In possession - Wharton sits deeper to orchestrate buildup, Anderson pushes slightly higher

Out of possession -Wharton protects positionally, Anderson covers ground

One controls.
One energizes

the only issue is that they are not destroyers, Anderson like to roam and Wharton may be physically dominated

that could be mitigated by inverted fullback
