Additional time

Our ball in play time on Friday was 67 mins compared with Newcastle’s 54 mins at the other end of the table. Fortunately for Villa probably. Think we averaged about 62 last season. Not sure how this will benefit us whatsoever. The added time was just a pain in the arse when already 3-0 up.
After a few weeks I think it'll settle down, as players will think what's the point if it's going to be added on. It started at the WC with 10's and 11's minutes added on, but by the end it was more like 5's.

If it stops villa's keeper taking 2 minutes for evey goal kick against us, I'm all for it.

I couldn't understand how they got 11 minutes added time at the end of the first half of Brentford vs Spurs game so at the risk of being a bit of an anorak (well a lot of an anorak actually) I made a note of what I considered 'obvious' stoppages in the second half.
I timed seven minutes 30s for subs, injuries, var, yellow card, plus a bit for 'excessive' delays for fouls, corners, throw ins.
The officials added on 4 minutes.
So yes it was a sad exercise but it begs the question how added time is calculated and who is recording it?

Back to normal tonight for most refs. It lasted a week and now scrapped. Like the grappling at corners thing they did for 2 weeks in 2016 or the 'keeper keeping the ball more than 7 seconds in 1997.

Absolute farce.
