ade on his way?

Anybody who thinks Adebayor is not a class player and is lazy to boot.... is a fuckwit; and the kind of fan we don't need.

Wenger has won more titles and cups then any current manager in the english game bar 1. I would say that makes him a better judge than you??? Maybe not.
He sells players at the right time when they are past their peak

Henry
Pires
Vieria
Ljungberg
Overmars
Petit
Toure(??? maybe)
to name a few.

I would love it if he was wrong and Ade banged 30 goals next year in a season when we win something. I cant see it myself but you never know.

when Arsene sells a player, rest assured he's either finished or a few games away from being so.
& the rare case that he does sell a player while they're relatively young (flamini & hleb) they go out & it's proven that they excelled in arsenal's system & flopped big time @ another club.

makes me laugh when people quote past players as some sort of yardstick.... "i suppose you would rather have corradi/spencer prior" ...etc etc.

that comparison changed (as did the club) on the day marco saw camels in the distance.

ade is a very frustrating player. bags of ability but a laid back style. on his day he looks better than drogba, but at his worst he looks a poor mans vassel. he has had a very difficult season which has never really got going for him, and every time it does something else happens to slow him down.... so i feel for him on that front.

I think if we keep him, you will see the real ade next season.

This is the case with alot of players, but you can forgot about Adebayor in that bracket. He's world class when he can be arsed, you just couldnt turn down the 22m.

Prime example Ashley Cole!!!!!!!

Arsene sold when he was told to sell by David Dein and it's still the same situation now, just with someone else telling him. If the offer is good and/or the player wants out, Arsenal sell.

Arsenal were ready to sell Viera in his prime to Madrid, only the player himself decided against it. You think Ashley Cole was past it when they sold him to Chelsea? Do me a favour. The same applies to Adebayor; we made a big offer, he wanted out, so he was sold. Arsenal were a better side with him in it, no doubt (pmsl @ how crap Bendtner is by the way) - Wenger knows that.

This notion that Wenger could have said "no, I want him to stay" is bollocks; the board would have told him where to go. This is why you never hear him saying the Moyes-esq crap like "he definitely won't be sold without talking to me" when Fabregas is continually linked with a move back to Spain. He knows if Barca come in with the cash, then there's nothing he can do to stop it. The same applies to all clubs anyway tbh

With the exception of Ljungberg and Toure (possibly), none of the above flopped big time when they left Arsenal.

Henry 34 goals in 73 games for Barca

Vieira won 4 Scudetto's after leaving Arsenal playing almost 100 games. In fact it was only injuries that prevented him from being an even more integral part of both teams.

Pires was an integral part of a Villareal team that became a permanent fixture in the Champions League...again only injury held him back.

Overmars played 99 games for Barcelona, scoring 15 goals. In his first season he actually had 8 goals in 31 games, compared to 7 goals in 31 games during his last season at Arsenal. He also scored one of the greatest Champions League goals of all time against Liverpool.

Petit, at Barcelona he was played as a defender and because of this, plus injuries, he never got going. His coach also didn't even know which position he actually played in.

All this says is that Arsene has a good track record of knowing when a player is going to be injured. So watch out Ade!

Wouldn't be the biggest loss.

Really ??
On his day he's a class act but it's a bit too incosistent + we've played at our best when he hasn't been playing. I'm not saying I want him to leave, I just wouldn't be that arsed if he did, we did fine when he was in Togo and has been suspended/injured.

Plus he's a lazy shit! ;)

Bloody hell, he's only been here 5 minutes and not played that many games - hopefully he'll be here proving the doubters wrong next season

You gotta show the loooooooooooooove

Doesn't mean much - remember what happened to our highest scorer last season and how he has been hounded out of town

Joint second with a left winger. ;)

its true our biggest players, not just in quality but their wages also, seem to get barracked so much quicker than other players...whether its Ade or Robby there is a pattern forming that is truely alarming with the turning against players when instead they could be massive for us, if supported.

If it really is down to the resentment of how much some of our players are earning that is making a lot of the "normal" fans turn against them then I can only see this getting worse as they are only human and will not be great all the time...we either deal with it or don't get upset if trophy winning isn't imminent!

Ade is a top quality player and I do not want to see him leave.

I am very dissapointed that my view isn't shared by an even larger proportion of Fans on the Forum.

At a rough guess I would say it was 70 - 30 in support of Ade from reading this thread. It should be much higher.

im in support of ade, but lets face itbellamy and tevez have a special connection when they are together up front. they work for each other and i reckon are quite good friends off the pitch. i reckon ade is more designed for a 4-3-3 formation with a creative player and 2 wingers to give him service. but ill be honest, id MUCH prefer higuain

Ade has ability but isn't able to pose a constant threat throughout a game, I think it's a bit harsh calling him lazy, it's more to do with the fact that he's got a knack of not being where he should be most of a game. He's got an ego and won't want to play understudy for whoever is coming in the summer, it's obvious we need someone better up front in his position if we want to compete for pots. Also it's frustrating that between him & Roque we spent about £45m but they've played less than 30 games between the two of them and their goals tally isn't great. Big man up front and two attacking mids, all of which should be first choice players , is what we need!

I like Ade as a player, if you accept that his work rate is nt massive (which doesnt bother me) as your trading this for talent in front of goal and good creativity.

His height is irrelavant, he simply is not a target man. Wenger bought him to train up and replace Henry, its clearly evident that hsi game is pealing wide and collecting the ball.

He is a top player but i dont htink we miss him, in fact i think under Mancini we look a lot better without him. Compare Mancini's games with him and without him and the goals per game difference is staggering.

Would work in a two up front system with a genuine middle of the pitch front man but doesnt work on his own and doesnt work with Tevez.

More like left sided striker in the 433-451, when he plays 442 he doesnt get as many.
