Adebayor/Barca and Robbie

Agree 100%.

But I think that some of it is down to what I call the "ugly girlfriend" syndrome.

In other words, some of us still can't accept that a player of Robinho's standing and quality would actually like playing for us,ikkle old ciddy.

It's a mindset issue-"we don't deserve to be able to compete for players with the mighty Barca."

We have to change this.We are now one of the most pro-active clubs in the world and any decent player would have to consider us before signing for anyone else.

But to be fair to them,Catalan does indeed sound better than Cadishead...:-)

Reading that makes me wanna give the big guy a hug! I sometimes forget these"experienced" top class footballers are so much younger than me. You can say what you like, but I remember being in my early 20's - and I was a whole heap different from how I am now...

The likes of Robbie and Adebayor might be filthy rich, but they must suffer from some acute anxieties at times playing in front of tens of thousands of people, who are just willing you to fuck up so they can have a go at you.

Your post is spot on!

Booing a player is only gonna help the opposition, we are there to support the team.

We all have our favourites (Robinho), and we all have players we dont rate as highly (bellamy).

But if Hughes tomorrow decides to play Bellamy ahead of Robbie, should I then start moaning and booing?

Of course not Bellamy is a City-player, so I will support him and hope he bags a hattrick.

( I might come on Bluemoon later for a good moan ;-) )

IF BARCA RATE ROBINHO SO HIGHLY HE CAN FUCK OFF THERE IF THAT'S THE WAY HE WANTS TO PLAY IT THE TRAITOR!

;-)

Don't agree with the 12th man thing though I tried it once and got escorted from the changing room and arrested, brought my boots and everything.

Good post TMQ
If they have got the blue shirt on get behind them for the full 90 minutes

Whilst I'm perfectly happy to discuss players strenghs and weaknesses in the pub or on Bluemoon, I have never ever booed a City player on the park.

Collective booing at half-time or fulltime is acceptable (although I don't really do that either), but individual barracking is only ever going to damage those individual's performace.

For me, that was the reason we so often had poor home form at Maine road during the 90s. The players were scared of the crowd.

Agree 100% with what your saying but if what Robbie is qouted as saying is true then he DID indicate he wants to join Barca. So I fail to see the similarities?

TMQ you are spot on mate. Just imagine what ever work you are in and if your boss or colleagues had a go at you for just say 20 mins about your work, attitude or performance it would really piss you off, it would me. You either rise above it and end up being even worse at your job. If the shite wasn't there in the first place I truly believe you would perform better.

All Robbie said was a very long winded 'thanks but no thanks' to be honest.

He isn't likely to burn his bridges with the biggest club in Europe to be fair to him and all he really said was how flattering it was and how great Barca are. Both seem like pretty truthful statements.

Of course I'd have loved him to say 'Nah fuck off, I'm City Til I Die now' but that was never going to happen in the real world. Robbie is only young and one of the elite stars of world football, he knows better than to burn his bridges with the likes of Barca just in case and I think that's fair enough.

If his previous is anything to go by if he wanted out and to go to Barca we would know about it!
