TMQ that's a great post, with a rousing little call to arms, and you clearly have the club's best intentions at heart.
But I can't help but feel you're looking for positives that aren't there, your interpretation of Robinho's comments baffle me.
As far as I know Robinho's comments regarding Barca were made in a different interview to any discussing us, so the regular argument that eveyone clings to that his comments were "taken out of context" doesn't hold water and just makes myself and others prefectly justified when they shat themselves with fear upon reading those quotes.
This was my reply on another thread regarding the same subject;
I was absolutely gutted when I read those quotes.
We all know Robinho deserves Champions League football, a player of his calibre should be playing at the highest level... but I thought (or hoped) that when the time came both parties could just go their separate ways, in a respectable fashion, but these quotes leave a bitter taste in the mouth.
It's tantamount to watching your girlfriend raise her skirt to a group of lads and hurl the tell tale sultry "come and get me" smile in their direction.
It hurts. It really does - and I'm not afraid to admit it.
I find it hard to read about our most talented player giving another club the "come on", flirting away while he still wears the our sky blue. It has echoes of the Ronaldo to Madrid saga, and to be perfectly honest I don't think I could take that.
Those quotes are obviously new, since he mentions playing alongside Ibrahimovic, I just hope when he does eventually leave it's not under bad terms and we can look back upon his time at City with fond memories.
Unfortunately that's how I see it, and if you're perfectly honest TMQ I'm sure that under that facade of yours you're just as worried as I am.
Also incredibly ironic that Ade should reveal all of this towards the end of a week in which we've read some 'people' on here questioning Robinho due to the fact that.....Barca have been linked with him!
Now that is incredibly selective, the two cases aren't even comparable. No one is questioning Robinho due to being linked with Barca, people
began questioning Robihno when he made his recent comments to the press... the comments which echoed Ronaldo's comments re Real Madrid - and you know that.
To compare the Adebayor / Barcelona saga to the current coming saga with Robinho doesn't hold water, Adebayor never commented as explicitly as Robinho on Barca, Robinho's comments are as good as a "come and get me" plea.
Those comments hurt, and I'm man enough to admit it. I'll be devastated when Robinho leaves, but I won't close my eyes and hum Bluemoon trying to convince myself and anyone who'll listen to me that it'll never happen - because it eventually will... whether it's Barca or not.
I'll be behind Robinho until the day he leaves the club, I just want to remember his time at the club with a series of fond memories - the beautiful and spectacular football that captures your imagination, the like of which only a handful of players are capable of producing. We're so lucky to have a player of his talent within our squad, and like yourself it really frustrates me when people take him for granted... we should appreciate him and his football, when he eventually leaves those who didn't will regret it until the day they're rotting in a box.
Some people don't seem to realise how lucky they are.
The old adage of "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" couldn't be more true is this case.
With all that said he isn't exempt from criticism, and I believe he let us down to a certain extent when he made those "flirtatious" comments.
Just please don't tell me I've no right to be worried TMQ - because underneath the Churchill-esque speeches I'm sure you are too.
