@Agent_ITK My friend is training at Spud's complex as we speak and just saw Adebayor. Is this one of the new signings you've talked about?

*gets on knees and prays*

even though I'm not religious....

Before the last week of August? Nahhh.

They are getting desperate though, no strikers bar Defoe, plus Parker is now injured - they will need to appease the fans with Modric being near the exit door.

Plus new manager, who will not want to start badly. Pressure is certainly on Levy to deliver this summer, it's critical for Spurs in my opinion. If he can bring in three good signings, they can kick on. If he fucks about and gets dross the knives will be out now that media harry's gone.

Placing myself in the unenviable shoes of the Spud,i would be hoping for him before Ade.

You have seen their respective goal scoring records right ? Plus Carrolls a Gazza (minus the ability) waiting to happen.

Re: Adebayor

Over the last couple of seasons they seem to have been on a massive cost-cutting exercise and not replaced many of those they've got rid of. Not being in the CL for a 2nd successive year has really fucked up their push and they are now falling back to the old model.

Until Modric is clearly in the bag, everything is on hold.

Spurs conning their fans giving it we can challenge for the league when really they talk the talk but the reality is they cant back it up,and will struggle again this year to achieve their goal of forth or better, when push comes to shove they are'nt prepared to push the boat out and spend a bit extra, just seem interested in how much they can screw out of other teams when flogging players....

There'll be doing it the right way though, surely!

What is the 'right way' by the way? Actually, if we look at Arsenal they aren't actually doing it the right way as 'Doing it' would infer that they are actually winning things. The 'Right Way' would also infer that they are 'Doing it' with their youth from North London so, in fact, they aren't 'Doing Anything the Right Way', they just use it to explain why they are being ripped off, as you pointed out.

Re: Adebayor

Plenty of Twitter talk that Adebayor is a done deal, but that's been said before

It'll happen at some point this window, spuds are desperate and it's a no-brainer for them.

Fingers crossed this time and then we might see a bit of transfer movement.

Season is a week away and they haven't sorted it out. Spurs fans must be getting nervous.

If ever there was a transfer nailed on, then this is it.

Had spuds already signed a striker or two then I might have been twitchy but why go out and spend 20mil+ on a forward when they can get Ade for 5mil.

AVB ain't happy that he has no strikers in pre season and less than a week before the PL start.

as pointed out on twitter, he should be there start of next week.

and just out of curiosity, what's dead line for registering players for the 1st game?

I almost wish we a plan B in place so we could stick 2 fingers up to Levey and AVB the 2 shiesters!...That would be funny to leave them in the lurch!

Same as any other transfer, I believe. As long as the player is signed 24 hours before a game, everything is fine!
