Adebayor (merged)

We don't need an Eto'o or a Forlan but we do need Ade. A big/massive centre-forward as at the moment we're screwed if RSC gets injured.

I'm just not entirely convinced with this argument, with have RSC, Tevez, Bellemy, the Boj and big Phil aswell as Robbie playing upfront if needed.

It's my opinion that given time in the side big Phil could lead the line as he did in quite a few games last year and suffice as the target man.

Granted he's still a rough diamond(a bloody big one at that) but he's very young and given sufficient time and plenty of opportunities he'll come good for us, he's still looks quite clumsy at times, bit I would prefer if we kept the lad around and I think we have enough attacking options.

Having said all that I'm not against signing Ade or another top striker I'm just not 100% convinced we actully need one.

Edit: I might have repeated myself on more than one occasion forgive me as I'm half pissed and in waffle mode.

Forlan - no fucking way.

He was completely shit when he played in this league and is over 30 now.

They want £30 million for him. Really hope that rumour is bullshit. If its down to Ade or Forlan its Ade obviously....

I would much rather we went with the forwards we have and sign no one else than get Forlan.

A shitty option this would be as I said in another post I'd rather pay the £10+ million extra and buy Aquero at least if he didn't work out he would have some resale value.

Also not forgetting he's an ex-rag and looks like Sally Gunnel.

As I said in another thread give him a deadline till monday then if he still hasn't signed let him stay at the Arse, and let's move on to another striker, even though I'm not 100% convinced we actully need another one.

Must heard that we are top heavy about 30 times by rags who have been Reading the gutter press and trying to repeat it word for word.... Becoming boring!!!

Tevez is not an all in all goal scorer.
Rocky can be injury prone.
Bellamy is a 3-4 game player before he's out for 2-6 games.
Evans isn't up to it yet.
Robi is god at home, but can't do it by his self.
That leaves big phil, who again is not up to getting city top 6.

So yes we really do need another striker, especially a tall one.

Well Forlan is not tall and couldnt do it in this league in his prime - let alone now he is over 30. So we DEFINATELY dont need him.

I do take on board what you are saying on RSC and Bellamy. We all know they will miss half the season through injury at the end of the day....

So we've sold the Boj then?

We have 6 attacking forwards who I mentioned in my post, I personly think that's enough, as we weren't exactly short of goals last year were we?

Again I'm not saying no to Ade coming just that we're not really in dire need and could probably afford to wait till January if need be and see how we're doing.

Let's also not forget if another striker does come more than likely 2 of those 6 I mentioned will probably be sold/loaned.

It's all about different opinions though and I think lesley and the gang will be alright deciding that by themselves.

Mate you must have been fully pissed if you think big phil can do the job for us...... we need a tall centre forward and i dont think theres anyone atm who we can get that is better than ade

I agree, ideally we want two class players for each position throughout the team is the best case scenario.

Personally I hope it does fall through. Huntellar and Fabiano are much better players and would cost around the same.

I can see what Hughes is doing going for prem experience, really he has taken no risks so far though and really the other options are not much ofa risk but would end up being much better players for us in the end IMO.

Anyway it will probably still end up going ahead. Its a £2 million loyalty payment from Arsenal that is holding it up apparently.

WTF, no one hopes a transfer falls through.

Adebayor is a top notch striker, just what we need.
exactly... some idiots on here dont understand that
