also, glad to see that someone has finally got Lescott at CB, he was unhappy at Everton when asked to play LB and yet so many people put him there in their ideal team line up

Yea, its an amazing contrast with teams past. Lescott isn't a LB he just covered there. People always put him there because they don't like the idea of dropping players like VK or NO.

Am pretty underwhelmed by the prospect of Adebayor signing - is he a Hughes type signing? NO.
Do we need to bring in another stiker? clearly not!
Is he a bad egg? - quite possibly.
- He is known to have a poor attitude and has had public fallings out with his colleagues as Bentner will testify.
- Has often been accused by Arsenal fans of being lazy - especially last season - certainly he is not the type of player to put in a shift come rain or shine...
- His arrival will further reduce the opportunities for players like Bojinov, which would be a real shame as I feel he can become a real star.
Personally I would rather we left this fella well alone...

agreed. and to be honest I can see a few of us getting a little upset at MH dropping NO, RD, MR, VK etc if he was to do that but he has been backed and will have to make the tough calls.

Anyway this is an Adebayor thread so heres my 2 penneth. In a nutshell he is a cracking signing. I have a very good mate who is a Gooner and he says that when committed Ade is class and unplayable however he isnt committed enough. This is something I think MH will play on massively, he is working at getting the boys committed and if he can get Ade playing then what a person to lead the line ! Cracking goal ratio in the Prem, 25, champs lge experience, tall, mobile, skillful and strong. only draw back is African Nations but thats only once every 2 years so not too bad, hope we do get him !

Sadly Boj has not proved anything so we really should stop banging on about him, As with the kids if he is good enough he will come through!
