Hope they take it, if it is true he would take a wage cut then fair play to him I guess. Sounds like we want him off the books badly though summer could provoke more of a bidding war if Spurs don't take the January option.

Spurs eye cut-price deal for Emmanuel Adebayor
By PHIL THOMAS
Published: Today

TOTTENHAM will be offered a cut-price January deal to turn Emmanuel Adebayor's loan into a permanent move.

The Manchester City striker, 27, is spending the season at Spurs, who have a £14million option to buy in the summer.

City are currently paying half of Adebayor's reported £170,000-a-week wages, and the ex-Arsenal ace has hinted he would love a full-time return to London and will take a wage cut.

Juventus and Paris St Germain are also interested.

City believe letting him go for less than they could command once the campaign finishes may tempt Tottenham into signing Adebayor now.

Getting his wages off the books would also allow City to chase targets like Napoli duo Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik.

And a £4m discount would help make the deal a reality.

Good, 10mill is a decent return for Ade

Maybe some other teams will show some real intrest now, and force Spurs to pay the full 14 (that would be a great return)

You'd think someone would snap him up for £10-£15m, bet it's the bloody wages :(

He's still got a decent scoring record and is a good player when he can be arsed.

The last 5 words of your post sums the life up of adebayor!

He worth more than 20 Million, but it seems that the club wants to get rid of his wages.

He scored in his first four matches for us then decided after the Arsenal fiasco he'd had enough of trying hard. I expect the same to happen at Spurs once the novelty wears off.
