Adebayor vs Dzeko

Adebayor has 5 more goals & assists so far this season than Dzeko.

You could extrapolate a fair bit from that, actually. Most of which would be wrong. I'm not inclined to believe that Sergio Aguero is only slightly better than Adebayor, or that Silva and Adebayor or remotely comparable in assisting goals and general build-up play. Dzeko isn't the only striker with less assists (or goals for that matter) who I rate higher than Adebayor (inc. Balotelli and Suarez [c*nt that he is).

Spurs and Ade are having quite the season, though.

As I said, if Dzeko plays the same # of minutes on that team, he would score more than 20 goals in the season.

Maybe you are and maybe not.

At the end of the day, Adebayor is having much better season than Dzeko so far.

Dzeko for me!

Love the guy, huge factor is he actually wants to play for this team and loves the club. Adebayor's had more minutes than Edin, who has come on as a sub a lot and for a striker it's the most difficult position to have an immediate affect on the game.

Give Ade another chance and he'll have another bust up with Mancini and start losing his head again, I know we can count on Dzeko to do his best to help the team win no matter what!

Dzeko is much better, MORE COMPLETE forward of the two - only a fool cannot see that.

That said, he still needs to:
a) adapt to slow build-up type of play City are grooming, and find his stride within
b) produce in a backup role, i.e. adopt to the fact that he is not GO-TO-GUY any more (he always was), and produce when coming off the bench.

Believe it or not I think both are still impacting his productivity.

Call me a fool, but I disagree. Dzeko however has one thing Adebayor lacks and that is passion.

But I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. What in your opinion makes Dzeko 'MORE COMPLETE'?

Vision and passing (and this is an unbiased opinion as many think the same, looks like).

For a kid his size, Dzeko's vision of the pitch and passing skills are second to none (try to imagine Carroll making those kind of passes regularly).

Team spirit and passion for winning, though not technical skills, also make Dzeko more complete forward IMO as you always want those in a player.

Plus I think Dzeko is a better finisher/poacher (but this is subject to discussion) when on top form, which I must admit he is not right now. If you followed him in Wolfsburg you'd know...but even at City he has a great conversion rate. Again while not on top form.

And let it be known - I like Ade as a player.

I like the challenge though - we should have this kind of discussion more frequently :-)

Adebayor was credited with four assists on Saturday.

That's the most from any player in the Premier League since Fabregas three years ago.
Dzeko scored 4 goals in one game this season.

That's most by any player in a game in the last 5 seasons.

Ade can play well but Dzeko is a better player. Plus he doesn't top the "most offside" player league, unlike Ade.

Err... no it's not.

Yakubu scored four for Blackburn against Swansea in December 2011.

Saha scored four for Everton against Blackpool in February 2011.

Berbatov scored five for United against Blackburn in November 2010.

Lampard scored four for Chelsea against Villa in March 2010.

Rooney scored four for United against Hull City in January 2010.

Defoe scored five for Spurs against Wigan in November 2009.

Keane scored four for Spurs against Burnley in September 2009.

Arshavin scored four for Arsenal against Liverpool in April 2009.

Lampard scored four for Chelsea against Derby in March 2008.

And Berbatov scored four for Spurs against Reading in December 2007.

But apart from that, you're spot-on!

Lol - you really are a bit of a sad bastard aren't you. We gave you Ade as he wasn't good enough. We are better than you, in every way.

Put up all the stats you fancy, but the league table wins out.
