Just looked into SWP's ban - the Stoke game was January 31st and his ban was announced on the 9th January. So I think these things might take a bit of time.

Hopefully the cup game with Fulham is included as part of it.

That's quite an achievement !

Dr Brown was in on it.

Those tv pictures make it a hell of a lot worse than it actual is but he will definatly get a ban but the good thing is the right of appeal will mean he will be free to play in the derby. Going of usual cases like this, the FA awaits the refs match report usually get them by Monday morning, then from their if he doesn't mention anything about the incident then the FA will act, I presume will charge Emmanuel by Tuesday afternoon and he will have right to respond by either Thursday or Friday, so if he appeals against it, the appeal date will then be set for sometime on the week commencing 21st Sept which is the day after Derby day so therefore I think even if we aint got a cat in hell's chance of being successfull we should appeal because I don't know about the rest of you but I would rather have him for the Rags and lose him for Fulham in Carling Cup and West Ham and Villa in the league than the lose him for the Rags game.

FA usually only goes behind the Ref if he didn't see the events. The Ref saw both, two yards from the challenge and gave a yellow card for the celebration.

just as bad as rooney's stamp on the chest of an allborg player last season. he got away scot free with that one. but he is after all england's darling.

Check out the second angle the ref is looking right at it. But it wouldn't be the first time a ref was lookinig right at something and didn't see it.

He received a yellow card for the celebration. So they definately cant do anything about that as the ref has already punished him.

Based on the reaction on MOTD he is definately going to get a ban for the other offence though (I still dont think it was deliberate personally)

Thing is I cant see how the ref can say he didnt see it, was only 3 yards away and had a perfect view. So I guess thats the end of Mark c as a prem ref if the FA go against him ?

A striker as gangly as the former Arsenal forward is always liable to inadvertently catch an opponent with a flailing limb but, nonetheless, Adebayor appeared somewhat fortunate not to be sent off after appearing to stamp on the prone Robin van Persie's face at a moment when Mark Clattenburg was looking elsewhere. If the referee confirms he did not see the incident, City's influential striker could yet face an FA ban based on video evidence.

Theres the answer ref will lie and say he didnt see it - even though he was 3 yards away and clearly looking straight at the incident. Does that mean RVP gets a retrospective red card for the 2 footed dangerous tackle ?
