IF he was on a normal, sub 100k per week wage, and he was up for sale, a man of his talent would be a 15mil player.
So surely we should be able to get 5-8mil for the twat and then let him have the other 7/8mil to subsidize his 70k per week shortfall for 2 years.
I just don't get why more clubs aren't in for him, if were asking 25 mil for him then fair enough, but we aren't.
Just fuck off.
Hi. It's my opinion that the buying clubs are fully aware of the fact that Ade will not ever play for us again. That kills his transfer value almost stone dead. Like every transfer window since this began i have the impression that nothing will be done with him until the final few days. He will end up going almost literally on a free transfer, whenever his move is a permanent one. I believe now is the time for City to cut their losses. Where we have wasted tens of millions on the Hughes signings, for morale alone we should just pay him up and let him go or at least strike whatever deal it is that will make this go away. His contract/transfer fee don't even count towards the FFPR's as far as i'm aware.
I agree with the diagnosis but not the cure. If Adebayor has some sort of underhand agreement with Spurs in place to force us to let him go for peanuts by taking this transfer to the wire, I say keep him and let him rot with the stiffs. Fuck him and fuck Spurs if they're not willing to pay us a decent fee for a decent player.

Did i love when he scored on his debut - Yes.
Did i love when he scored aginst Arsenal - Yes.
Do i wish he could play without fucking up the dressing room - Yes.
Mancini has shown he can forgive and forget and make the team stronger with Carlos.
Its such a shame as i would rather have Ade in the squad than having to face him in another team at least twice a season.
IMO if Ade and Mancini could somehow bury the hatchet it would be an awsome addition to the squad.

Absolutely, he's still good enough for us in football terms. I don't think he will ever have the attitude that Mancini demands though, nor even accept a squad/rotation role particularly gracefully.

These Hughes left over players are both literally a figuratively becoming a millstone around Mancini's neck. He didn't sign them, nor did he give them the contracts they were given. Its just my opinion but I think the wisest thing City can do right now is clean house properly. We tried last summer and yet not one of those players was "sold" (Bellamy aside). I feel like there's an element of stubbornness on our side which I simply don't think is worth it. In the greater scheme of things, getting rid of Ade (and RSC and Bridge) by paying their contracts up simply ensures the manager and executives can get on with strengthening where we need to. I think too much time and energy is being wasted on a handful of players who are on paper entitled to be paid up on a contract they were given. None of those players, whether they were good enough or not, did what Carlos did for example and say they don't want to play for us. It was a sporting decision that they were no longer required. Since we gave them prohibitively big contracts, its down to us (the owners) to pay them up so everyone can move on.
