This is one of my biggest bugbears. Amy Winehouse was the same; it just makes it all sound fake when you hear them talk in one accent and sing in another.

I think the only person who gets a pass is Mick Jagger, as he began by signing in the blues style and you can't really do that in anything other than an American accent.
