That's the way I'd pronounce it. Them being German, though, the latter sounds more German.

Everybody I knew from Gorton and Openshaw pronounced it this way, I hadn’t heard the German sounding pronunciation until a few years ago.

His name was Adi Dassler, not Adeee Dassler, so it’s Adi Das.

It’s also Nikeee, the Greek goddess of victory, the same as Aphrodite is Aphroditeee, not Nike like “like” or Aphrodite like “dust mite”.
