Advice needed re possible speeding ticket

It was prob nearer 80 unfortunately
Just before you torch it, check on google earth the gantry you think it was most don't have a camera on them.
Only every 4th or 5th one has a yellow speed camera and i've only ever seen them flash when your doing in excess of 80.
Not sure if the cameras work in tandam with the variable speeds as i've seen people fly through them when they've been left on 40 overnight at 5am .

So something may or may not have happened on a road and you are whittling about it?

It's a weird world you inhabit. Just forget about it, sort your details out properly and get on with your life.

Got done for the first time in my life a few weeks ago 48mph on a 40mph road. Some devious police vehicle parked in a lay by.

I have been driving for nearly 60 years and will not be doing a speed awareness course as I would just lose my temper. It is nothing to do with road safety just the police getting their statistics improved and a money making racket.

Fuck them,
Do the speed awareness course. Saves you 3 points on your licence and a hike in your insurance premiums for the next 5 years. I did one a couple of years ago and found it useful to be honest. Learnt a few things as well. I think the majority are done on line now. I understand how you feel, but be pragmatic. It's the sensible thing to do.

If they ask, and most do, you have to admit you’ve been on one. Who knows what that does to premiums?

I find that going through the first camera at legal speed gets you noticed and you're in the computor....pull over in the hard shoulder, have a coffee, make a call and all the time your average speed is reducing, then.....batter it through the rest at whatever speed you like to bring your average back up. Works every time.

It's an average between 2 cameras. Not the whole set!

Doing 50 through the first, fine, stay at 50 to the next one, all good, do the next one at 60, average is now 55...

Your method involves a lot of pulling over!

I give up!

I give up!

And that's the attitude of your average folk. Speed limits are there for a reason. Back by years and years of statistics, accidents and unfortunately deaths.

I'm guessing he also wouldn't agree that I think anybody over the age of 65 should be made to redo their test

What has age got to do with it? You are either a good driver, an average driver or a poor driver.

Plenty of younger drivers who are dreadful on the roads.

Just take the points mate. Don't pay anything to the kiddy fiddling association known as the police. How must a man feel who spends his day sat pointing a toy gun at vehicles, fucking pathetic.

As for the OP, don't bother contacting the polis. If they want you, they'll find you. You won't be better thought of by trying to be the good samaritan.

Taken them mate, not everybody will agree with your opinion but don’t let that bother you.

They get your money whatever you do though.

I know good men in uniformed roles. The system is broken however and its minions have allowed that to happen around them. That organisation is a national disgrace that needs an extensive rebuild. High percentage of cretins in unsuitable roles and silly twats holding toy guns instead of tackling serious wider issues, the whole thing stinks.

@AKA 55 year old teenager, This is what you want to do:

Get yourself a new bar of soap, I like Palmolive as I'm quite sensitive to the sun and the cold so it works all year here in Sweden, but another quality brand like Imperial Leather or Pears would be fine.
Drill a hole in the soap large enough for a decent piece of twine.
Pass the twine through the hole and tie with a double figure-of-eight (see here).
Measure a length of twine that is as long as you.
Make a larger loop in the other end of the twine large enough to go over your head.
Again, tie with a double figure-of-eight.
Job done.

What you don't want to do is be bending down in them showers.

The speeding conviction should be reported to your insurance company. Same thing happened to Mrs PPT. She refused to go on the course. Took the 3 points and her premium increased by £70 the following year. Where is the upside in that? Take the awareness course every time in my book.

I'd piss a driving test...unlike most young lads/girls around Manchester these days. They drive like cunts.
