AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Bournemouth are an excellent side who scored a cracking goal. We huffed and puffed a bit but I won’t be having a dig at any of the players or Pep who have battled like fuck these past few months to give us a very good season overall, getting two trophies is never something to be sniffed at.

Fine margins tonight but this is a team with a lot of youth that are only going to get better, and will be reinforced in the summer.

The future is blue.

As a side note Alty must have been panicking to only play 25 seconds ‘extra’ despite all the breaks in play during injury time, the cheating rag ****.

Foden will get back to his form.. He's having a bad time but he will return to his best.. I'm confident of that
Looked sharp again tonight , just hope he doesnt go to the world cup , getting splinters in his arse on the bench for a month is a waste of his time , there will be a few more world cups for Phil in the future

I’m not sure there’s anyone to challenge them? The standards of when Pep/Klopp went head to head are long gone.
Probably said the same thing about Liverpool in the summer. The reality is that very few teams defend their title, and these are the worst team to win the title in ages.

Here's a list of the last teams to win the title other than us and the position they finished in the following season.

24/25 - Liverpool: 5th or 6th (23 points off the top)
19/20 - Liverpool: 3rd (17 points off the top)
16/17 - Chelsea: 5th (30 points off the top)
15/16 - Leicester: 12th (49 points off the top)
14/15 - Chelsea: 10th (31 points off the top)

We are the exception, and even in the seasons where we've lost the title, it's been a pretty big drop off.

Difficult to tell but to me fitness and set pieces haven’t been great this year and the no2 should need to take some of the responsibility for that
Yeah I can see that point of view. You'd think with so many coaches on staff we would be better at set pieces. Something to work on for next season whether Pep goes or not .

Pundits already musing about how Arsenal are now poised to have a dynasty the next several years.

They said exactly the same thing about the dippers at the end of the summer when the transfer business had been completed. It aged well, didn't it? Worst title defence this many a long year.

It's just easy journo talk, costs nothing to say, even if it's delirium.

They turned up for about 30 fucking seconds all game.

Absolutely fucking cowardly half arsed pathetic performance from every one of them just like we’ve seen far too often frankly since the treble.
I know you’re a long standing blue, so I can only assume all the success has made you entitled.

We’ve won the league, making it 4x in a row and two cups since the Treble, during a rebuild of the squad, show the boys a little respect.

All but confirmed he’s going, doesn’t seem happy that the news got leaked.

Out run and out played all over the pitch tonight. We looked tired and devoid of ideas. A shame for the season to end in such a way for Pep but I didn't really think we looked like scoring until we did right at the end. The midfield was slow and over run and our final ball, as so many times this season, was poor.
Securing both domestic cups and yet another champions league spot is quite an achievement considering the players who left and the adaptations we have had to make this season. We just haven't been strong or consistent enough throughout the season for the league this year.

We had our chance when we drew level, with Arsenal on points, but with five games left to play we knew we had to build on it and be 'perfect' .... we have dropped four points since then, and i don't think Arsenal have dropped any, so we can't complain .... we had the chance, and we blew it.

To be honest I thought we were a bit lucky to get a draw so no complaints.

Pep should have made more changes tonight but he clearly doesn’t trust the fringe players.

Fucking helped the dippers get 5th too! Argh…..

I don't blame the players for letting the title slip.....

I BLAME THIS **** RIGHT HERE!!!
That wasn't the sole reason. Everton a couple of weeks ago have undone the hard graft getting us in the mix (also partly down to Arsenal giving us a glimmer). Keane not getting sent off didn't help matters but didn't do particularly well in dealing with getting gifted a way back.
