AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Poor performance against a motivated and hard working mid table team chasing a Europa league spot. Frankly half of the team are not or no longer good enough. Lots of work to do whether Pep goes (he is my view) or stays.
Only positive is that set piece FC did not win it on the pitch so it’s a muted celebration! No 93.20 moment for them or their fans
Mid table ?
"Incredibly, leading the way are Bournemouth. Andoni Iraola's team have gone on an incredible 16-game unbeaten run, which has seen them shoot up the table to sixth place. They last tasted league defeat in January in a 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal."

Watching the pictures at the end I actually thought that some of those players probaby needed to experience that losing feeling when getting close - especially Cherki (it may make him take it seriously now) and Guehi....I would expect it to motivate them with the likes of Khusonov as well - pain and loss can make you more determined.

If we can improve by a meagre 5% next season we will be very successful. If Pep goes, Lijnders will probably go as well which is a pity as I believe he is the unsung hero who really knows how to press teams and got us results we may not have got from this young squad .
Difficult to tell but to me fitness and set pieces haven’t been great this year and the no2 should need to take some of the responsibility for that

Less said about that performance the better. It was crazy that we were even in a title race, and almost took it to the last day. Both cups and a second place finish was probably an overachievement if anything. Overall, you have to consider it a pretty decent season all things considered.
Yep let’s hope that that will never become a great season Because that means our standards have dropped!

Rodri is sadly a bit of a liability. Gets caught in possession a lot. Bernardo is leaving at the right time as he is not in the same league.as Vitinha and Neves. And Kovacic. It's not their fault age and injuries have caught up with them.

I don't blame the players for letting the title slip.....

I BLAME THIS **** RIGHT HERE!!!
Well, you can't really lay absolute total blame on him, although it does give the opposition something to latch on to. We lost this with too many draws- something unheard of in previous seasons with Pep.

Disappointed that Bernie had another meh performance tonight, been running on fumes the last couple of months after a good first part of the season.
I think it was the opposite. He had a poor first part of the season that’s been brilliant over the last two or three months just really knackered tonight like the rest of them.

City played 4 games in 9 days including FA final in London, whil Bournemouth got 10 days rest before this game. It is ok. Two tournaments in this season is good achievement taking into consideration all conditions.

I BLAME THIS **** RIGHT HERE!!!
Said the same during the game.
You can also blame all the thick **** Blues buying bottles outside the Etihad after he did it.
Was sick of seeing the **** on my tv screen tonight.

It was one game too many, especially after the final….we could have done with another days rest….however we always struggle these days against teams with intensity.

We desperately need legs in the midfield.

Don’t want Pep go but not sure he has ever found a way to get the very best out of Haaland.

Still had a season most other teams would die for !
