AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

We all knew it would be over tonight, The whole club tonight have to take our medicine and move forward and say it's been a very good season from what we were early season and to be 2nd and 2 cups in the bank is OK

Bank the feeling tonight, take it on the chin and come back next season and prove we are good enough to take our trophy back off them

Yeah not worried about the CL - the league was what I wanted. And Spurs to go down would be everything.

Suspect we're keeping the trophy warm for you next season but for now I'll enjoy it!
See you at Cardiff in August

Think its time for a change folks, and it pains me to say it

I'm just glad Pep is leaving after a decent season where we've won two trophies, it would be painful to watch him leave after a season like last season for example

Roll on next season where we might not recognise a lot of the squad
I think I agree. As you, it pains me. But too many performances like that this season where we are just flat. It may just be time for a change from the best manager there has ever been.

I’m not sure there’s anyone to challenge them? The standards of when Pep/Klopp went head to head are long gone.
Meh. Arsenal have been winning games vs crap competition 1-0 for months. I think this year was a down year for alot of purported challengers.

Lacklustre all over the pitch. Passing poor and defensively highly suspect. Usual suspects came on and contributed zilch.

my big worry is with city potentially not challenging with no Pep, Liverpool in disarray, Chelsea a joke, Spurs nearly down that Arsenal dont repeat their season and we are faced with…….them

Team is not good enough.

The metal is there thus the cups but the quality is not.

Thats it.

I wouldn’t say the team is not good enough. The champions have lost against this poor City team twice. A lot of it has come down to fortune this season. However, the previous City or Liverpool teams would have walked this league easily.

We have a lot to improve, but now have the uncertainty of a change in management to deal with.

I thought we were flat tonight, but that was totally understandable - a Wembley final is a physically and emotionally draining experience, especially if you win, and the PL deliberately wouldn't let us play tomorrow.
Well it hurts to miss out on the title to an ugly and cynical Arsenal side, which also got loads of help along the way from PGMOL, but I am very happy and proud of the way we have won two major trophies in a transitional season.

Would’ve liked a bit more blood and thunder tonight second half. We need some more physicality Nico O and Khus along with Guehi are the only players we have who really over power opponents. Need some nastiness in midfield. Hopefully tonight people will stop suggesting Kovacic is good enough. Shame we couldn’t take it to last day but after the news yday i thought the players might struggle to raise their games.

Micha Richards think we have gone out with a wimper..
What a ****, any of you think the same , fick you ..
League cup Fa cup .. wonderful season..
As for tonight Bournemouth played very well.

Just in case some of you entitled moaners weren't listening, if you aren't happy with the way this season as a whole went , fuck off and support Celtic
I’m surprised we were even in with a shout, whilst a big improvement on last season and with new, young squad in transition, I genuinely believe for all season we’ve not had a single good 90 minutes, often a good 45 in one of the halves.

Going out with a whimper might be harsh but we did really well despite the above, to get ourselves into a position beating Arsenal, where it was in our hands and we have drawn against Everton and Bournemouth. Both games we need to win at this stage to bring the big prize home. Facts isn’t it, but do believe we’ve done really well this season.

Consolation is that I’m now relieved I don’t have to go into the Villa game with any hope or anxiety. Just see off a few legends in the sun and finish off the season as best we can with a win.

And remember lads, this is Arsenal at their absolute peak. The best of our current squad is yet to come.
