AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

You’re embarrassing, 2 trophies in the bag and 2nd confirmed. Fuck off.
Not sure why you have to resort to ad hominem insults here but you do you. It's great that we won 2 trophies but we should have won that game. The players should have turned up and won that game yet they turned up for 5 minutes in the end when it was too late. Bournemouth thoroughly deserved to win that game and we ended up being lucky with a draw. Likewise they should have never dropped points against Everton - again we were lucky to get a draw in the end. It was in their hands to and they didn't even turn up/ seem to care. Given how much they earn and the opportunity they had in front of them, it is embarassing, insult me all you want.

No offence but your opinion of the circumstances of last night and recent results, including the fact our players who won the FA Cup 4 days ago, is absolutely shite.

Not all opinions are equal and yours is crap.

I’m not embarrassed in the slightest, we were expected to finish 3rd/4th this season as we were rebuilding. The lads have taken a title race down to the penultimate game of the season and won two trophies.

City’s 11th best season ever.

If you’re embarrassed then you need thicker skin and to man up.

There was another dubious off side given against Haaland. The linesman threw his flag up instantly. Should have let the move play out. It was the opposite for a Bournemouth clear offside, leading to Guehi getting clobbered
I was livid at this. So many odd decisions and inconsistencies.

In a human population studies, when you study the distribution of an individual characteristic the distribution will typically take on a Bell distribution. Standard deviation is the measure you are looking for to describe degrees of uniqueness which as you say is a misnomer.

It seems I must repeat that uniqueness cannot be qualified because it is an absolute concept. Something is either one-of-a-kind, or it is not.

What a well drilled team they are.

I agree with you. Give them some credit.

Some of our online bluemoon posters are really clueless.

Against a great coach, a hungry team who have played 20 games less than City, yet all they can do is slaughter the Coach and certain players.

To be honest I wish they would disapear into the Social media drain.

A bit of respect to our Coach and players might be appreciated

Well done to the fans who made it there last night, a couple of days after the expensive trip to London. It was great support, and fight to the end , unlike some.

The only thing about the Haaland goal was that it was a first shot in anger. We should have done this earlier.
Not to be too technical, but it was at least the second, if you don’t count O’Reilly’s pass to the keeper! Rodri hit the post before Haaland scored the rebound.

We absolutely do get reffed differently
We all know who and why that is, just this week we’ve seen inconsistent refereeing in set pieces FC game with Burnley and our game with Bournemouth . Expand that across another 36 matches and Scudamore gets his new champions every 6 years vision.
I am fully expecting Sundays ref at the their match against Palace to punish any grappling in the penalty area from corners just so they can rub it in our faces. And they talk about us having asterisks next to our title wins

Pep has struggled all season with the balance of the side. We have been too defensive or too open. He settled on a side that pressed as a 4 and we started to tick. He felt that would be too open against Bournemouth but despite the more defensive midfield three we didn't cope and couldn't create chances.

That's been the story all season.

Last night probably needed fresh legs, but the trust isn't there yet.

Fair enough

Last night my mind drifted back well over 50 years. Leeds United had just beaten Arsenal 1-0 to win the FA cup and on the Tuesday had to win at Molyneux to complete the double. The pundits were certain they'd do it - apart from one dissenting voice, Malcolm Allison. He said, with all his cocky certainty, that after the high of Wembley, Leeds would not be in the right frame of mind for Wolves. And so it proved. It isn't always true, but in 2019 we won the league and had a week BEFORE the cup final and in 2023 there was a clear gap between winning the league and winning the cup and another week still before the CL final. Last night City looked just like a team that could not get back to "the day job" after Saturday. Their legs were heavy and their minds perhaps elsewhere. This team has shown great promise at times this season but perhaps hasn't got quite the mindset of treble winners (yet).

Cherki could have cost us the title by blocking Rodri's shot in our last attack - it was goal bound. A moment not to be dwelled upon I suppose.
Sav did so well, and then - not - he should pass it now - there's more space - more options.

but he takes an extra touch and then passes, it's more congested.

Its all hindsight - and the defender closed the shot down as well and rodri and cherki getting in each others way - but for a brief moment SAV was a hero....and then he wasn't!

I guess your criticism of the players can be applied to fans like you who only turn up when we’re winning & successful. When the players need fans because things have gone against us - they need support from supporters - not constant criticism- NOT “FANS” Like you

It’s obvious who the real supporters are on here
