Taliban bastards taking over is tragic for the country even by the standard of its own troubled history. They had the beginnings of a cricket team there for a while, those lads will be soon be for the chop for enjoying such Western frivolities. And as for the 50% of the people that are women - back to the Middle Ages for them, sadly. Meanwhile GB and USA will leave the interpreters etc to their fate.

not just the British, a few would-be conquerors have floundered in the mountains there, the Russians tried and failed before the recent allied attempt.
It's a tragedy for the country but as Drone implied, many people have made a lot of money out of it
So sad, there's a lot in the UK, they must be so worried about family and friends back home. Anyone who has read military history will not be surprised by the outcome in Afghanistan. We could not control it when we were (at the time) the most powerful nation the world had ever seen. Now the Yanks have taken that trophy off us.

Let them get on with it. It baffles me how these Islamist folk like to live their lives but who are we to question it? If women are happy being nothing more than breeding fodder then so be it.
