African teams - horrible and pathetic?

i think Ghana have been brilliant in there two games and should have beaten Australia, i think they could go far, imagine how good they'd be if they had Essien!

So far this World Cup in Africa, the African teams have played 10 games, with 1 victory! This is surely very pathetic compared to what was expected. So the question then is, what is going wrong with the African teams?

Has there been too much overrating of these teams prior to the World Cup and irrational emotions considering the World Cup is held in Africa?
So because the tournament is being held in Africa it means African teams have to be world beaters?! I don't think thats what the world expected or how it works.

I'm not simply talking about play but results here. And 1 win in 10 games is disappointing and the worst continent by some distance.

Edit: Cameroon just lost too, and it's 1 win in 11.
We get your point: Africa=Worst continent! Happy?

I didn't expect them to be world beaters, but 1 win in 12 games is just really bad and way below my expectations.

The OP is a bit of kn*b. No, "sorry and pathetic".

I expected more intelligence, but so far has failed to show it.

How can you explain it?

Didn't expect him to be a world beater, but this way below my expectations...

Nobody has stood out in this World Cup.

Nobody.

Nobody.

Then look at the record of the Latin American teams in comparison. They've won most of their games, while African teams have won 1 out of 12.

I certainly did expect the African teams to do better than Asian teams.

one question then : pathetic because they've won 1 in 12, ok. why horrible though?

I think the problem many of the African teams have got is that they have a few great players surrounded by quite a few ordinary players. None of them are that strong throughout the team.

Resources. The Latin teams, with all their low living, farm everything into football as a way out of poverty. They've done this for generations.

Whilst most of Africa have the same problems, the drive out of poverty takes a different route. The resources are not there. The support network is not there.

Whilst the US is behind the development of countries like Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana and such, in football, they will surpass them soon as the resources the US have are simply better.

I would say the leagues are probably similar in stage development.

African teams are certainly no worse than the US, imo.
