Ageing team

Whilst the age of the playing staff is clearly an issue, I also think the way the game is played has changed considerably since 2012, and it has left us a long way behind.

We are playing a slow build game in a time of high energy, high speed, high stamina "gengenpress" (or whatever it's called) style football. It's a double whammy situation, and to be honest has been coming for a while now, and for this season we have our work cut out just finishing top four.

Indirectly watched Yaya for 30 minutes in first half and was taken aback by just how little effort / work rate he actually demonstrates, this is the key to citys previous strengths of tempo and control of a game, something that he,Silva and to some extent Nasri used to do. Maybe the legs, maybe the tactics but regrettably all good things come to an end and Pep will certainly focus on this forgotten part of our game come pre season. Bring on 2016/17.

That was Yaya making a real effort. He's usually a lot more laid back than that.

It was summed up for me when he tried to make a tackle in the first few minutes of the game in midfield and he was so slow that he badly fouled the player.

Its a credit to the team that we can be competitive against a good team with Toure in the team. But its says an awful lot about Pellegrini that he keeps playing him. Its the same every game and yet he does not seem to see it

You have to ask yourself why this hasn't been addressed 18 months to 2 years ago?.

Think the landscape of financial fair play at the time made it very difficult for us to make massive overhauls of the squad.

Younger teams out run us and out fight us. Having a group of talented individuals that look like they've never played with each other before who think they can turn it on for periods in a game is not good enough for where we want to be.

I'm scratching my head at how badly we have regressed since we won the league in 2014. We have a manager that seems to just pick a team and go out and expect everything to fall into place. We let a Spurs team have to much of the ball yesterday, instead of sprinting forward to press the ball and cause panic for which ever Spurs player had the ball, the likes of Yaya and Silva took steps backwards and invited them to come at us.

I'm wondering if some of these players now know their time is up and are having a sulk about it. There is a title there to be won and they don't have the hunger to see it over the line.

Pep moved on the likes of Ronaldhino to start something new and revitalise a lacklustre Barca side, I hope the guy earns his crust and ships out some of the wage thieves we have in our squad.

The apparent lack of any desire and passion shown by the players recently really does frustrate me. There's no wonder the media have digs at us when we play like 11 individuals. Something isn't right at the minute and the whole demeanour of the team seems off. I can't see where that is going to turn around before the end of the season, roll on 2016-17

Marvin Hagler famously said “It's hard to get up at 6am when you're wearing silk pyjamas"

It's the key to mental motivation, and that is why the younger, fitter animal with something to prove will eventually prevail. In effect, it is nature's survival of the fittest, and unfortunately our lot are largely past it.

No need to start making major changes sagna, mdm, kolarov, yaya, bony will probably all leave! Though I'd be tempted to give sagna another year as he's been consistently good all season!

I don't think massive changes in the squad are needed. Players that don't look world beaters this season may do better in a new system next season.

I would like to see the EDS involved in first team matches, but the squad we have should be more than capable of picking up trophies.
Right this bollocks has to stop.

Number 1 - when did a formation become a system? Bollocks

Number 2 - no formation in the world ever made a shit player better

Number 3 - players that can't implement a formation for one manager are very likely going to fail to implement another managers formation

Number 4- guardiola hype, what the fuck? He's a decent manager but the way some on here are going on, he's already won us everything, improved all our players and approved the good transfers
