Aguero banned for three games (updated)

Absolutely delusional. If Aguero was wearing a red shirt this thread would be going in an entirely different direction. I think this thread is an embarrassment to Bluemoon. I don't even think RAWK would be this bad.
If he were wearing a red shirt they'd be charging Winston Reid.

The ref needs to get his eyes tested as he was right in front of it

As I posted elsewhere, if Marriner had got any nearer to the incident he might have got elbowed. It serves one purpose though, and that is to check throughout the season how other teams are treated re alleged violent conduct. I fancy Johnny Foreigner wearing sky blue shirts will not get equal treatment to those wearing England shirts. But we shall wait and see, and I hope to be corrected!

Any chance of FatScouseGit being retrospectively charged after elbowing that Wigan player a few seasons back, or is that lump under the FA carpet the point to which it was swept the following week?

Get a grip mate. Your posts are completely irrational.

We have had numerous penalties this year, a blatant Kolorov foul not given as a Pen and Aguero throwing an arm which even on a City forum is dividing opinion. Its swung both ways so far so actually debate the topic rather than letting cloud your judgements.
The refereeing of City games is fair generally. Sometimes incompetent. But it's the way the disciplinary process has been manipulated that is annoying. We've been done. This system is wide open to media influence, and we all know who benefits from that - and who loses out because we are their no. 1 rivals.

I completely agree about the system, it fosters inconsistency and is to open to external influence. Whether its detrimental to us is another argument which im going to avoid.

Don't agree with that at all. If that had been rug head or Ibrahimovic, not only do I not think they would have been charged, I don't think there would have been many complaints on here. Are you easily embarrassed?

I think the 'did the ref see it' is a grey area that isn't as black and white as it sounds. I suppose it means something along the lines of 'did he see an incident involving Aguero and Reid?' - Yes. Did he see Aguero throw an elbow in a violent manner - No. It is entirely plausible that the ref didn't see it as an elbow at the time despite looking right at it. Had he seen the elbow he would have sent him off there and then. It's funny people criticising the ref now but the irony is he actually helped us by not reducing us down to ten with the score at 2-1 and 20 minutes left.

Are you mad? If Fellaini threw that elbow you wouldn't be calling for a red and a ban? That is some amount of bullshit.

'Numerous' penalties! One if I recall if we're talking about the premier league and one of the more dubious ones awarded against us. There is nothing irrational in what I've posted, I'm very rational and I know corruption when I see it.

Well you recall wrong there has been two in the league in the first four games and two in the Cup. We also had a dubious one for us also.

Noticed you never commented on the Kolorov incident because you are unable to see balance in a discussion.

I dont agree with the Aguero decision but can understand how other blues/referees could view it differently rather than view everything through a blue prism and therefore see a conspirancy.

You're probably right.

Bollox. That 'elbow' pales into insignificance compared to one of Fellaini's. That's why I said rug head or Ibrahimovic.

That's not what you said. You said if that was Ibra or Fellaini not only wouldn't they receive a ban but there also wouldn't be many complaints on here about it. That's crap, and so is your last post too. Aguero threw an elbow at someone and behaved like a dick. He's got what he deserves regardless what's happened with other players in the past.

Aw, and I was looking forward to a good squabble! It's the "referee didn't see it" element that needles me. When the alternative is to invite adverse scrutiny on their own performances by professing to having seen an incident but done nothing about it, they're always going to claim that they haven't seen it......even when it's blisteringly obvious that they have. It's a no win situation for the player, and when you get incidents like the Adebayor one, where Clattenburg took action on the day, but later lied that he'd issued the yellow card for a different offence, so the FA could then hit the City player with an additional charge, then it leaves you with no faith in the system whatsoever.

No I didn't say that. Try reading it again.

Your previous post where you say that Marriner did us a favour by not giving a card was also shite, because you assume he didn't see it which is highly unlikely. The point you make about players getting what they deserve is fine providing there's consistency. There isn't.

That is the crux of the matter what constitutes seeing an incident.

I think the ref did see the ' incident' in real time but like all of us has viewed it differently in slo-mo and from different angles. Too easy to say he has cheated or is lying because he was near the incident so must have seen it. Impossible in real time to determine intent for example.

It's impossible to tell intent in slow motion too.

It's because they would have seen the 'incident' but not the 'intent' (or even just the elbow). If the ref sees the elbow clearly then he will absolutely give Aguero the red card. We have benefitted here, not been punished. It's Aguero who deserves the shit.

Surprise, surprise. I'd imagine the ref will now be banned from refereeing other Prem games, as if he can't see what's directly in front of him, then he needs looking at.

But that's not their remit though is it? Their match report is supposed to be based on what they saw at the time, not what they saw later. Marriner clearly saw it and took no action. If that was due to simple misjudgment as to the severity of the incident, then that's just tough titty. Either way, it then falls to the FA to decide if the offence was so serious that that misjudgment needs to be reconsidered, not for the referee to read the Daily Mail's biased opinion and get the freeze frame going
