Aw, and I was looking forward to a good squabble! It's the "referee didn't see it" element that needles me. When the alternative is to invite adverse scrutiny on their own performances by professing to having seen an incident but done nothing about it, they're always going to claim that they haven't seen it......even when it's blisteringly obvious that they have. It's a no win situation for the player, and when you get incidents like the Adebayor one, where Clattenburg took action on the day, but later lied that he'd issued the yellow card for a different offence, so the FA could then hit the City player with an additional charge, then it leaves you with no faith in the system whatsoever.
