We still need to sign a top quality striker to replace him this summer but he is not a bad player to come off to he bench if we need him . A new contract would be good for him but obviously he wouldn’t be first choice for us anymore . Tbh wouldn’t like to see him anywhere apart from in Argentina .I’m sure the club can and will afford some sentiment in this case.
I also really think they are easing him back in. Outside of our own fan base i don’t hear many suggestions that he might be finished.

That’ll be the source of the Mirror story - Kun following Messi to Paris. The British football establishment would prefer Messi to go to Paris than see him grace the PL - thats how bitter they are.
Tough shit then if the club decides Sergio can’t get back to a reasonable level of fitness. Be great if he stays but regardless we need to sign a young top class striker this summer. We can’t let trying to sign a 34 year old Messi over cloud our judgement when trying to move the squad forward.No Aguero, no Messi. Messi is a known introvert so having Aguero here will 100% affect the decision in my opinion
Imo club is worried about his fitness an rightly so.
Looks like he cant get fully fit anymore gets close to a comeback but then never plays and has a setback. Seems like even trainings are hard for him and that causes the setbacks, because real matches when opponents goes in hard on him quite often can make it even worse.
Hope he can come back in this month and will be able to start games regularly but honestly would not be surprised to see him start tomorrow, get subbed around 60th minute and not see him again for a month. Thats how his season is going so far unfortunately.
He always needs 2-3 bad games to catch momentum after a period off injured, but it was a long ago he started 3 games in a row for us.

tbh hes my favorite player of our sheik era however weve had his best years and if like david he decides he wants to move on then he"ll have most peoples blessing.what we need to do is get a decision and buy a striker if hes going,
Putting sentiment aside and (somehow) forgetting the unforgettable QPR moment, would it be that 'gutting' if Messi and Sergio went to PSG? Offer Agüero an extension. He's still absolute world class, and has without a shadow of a doubt, a couple of seasons left in the tank on top form, if he can remain fit.
Do we need to search the market for another striker? Absolutely, we need depth attacking wise, so an extension combined with a new CF would be ideal for Sergio and City.

I've never been super-keen on Messi coming, although I know all the arguments about why it would be good. Part of me thinks "imagine Messi playing for City" and the publicity that would generate is undeniable. But unless he's going to commit to CFG and go to New York, which is a darn sight colder than Miami, then 2 seasons of him at the arse end of his career, paying him 20 million quid a year, for him then to go somewhere else is not worth the hassle imo.
