Aguero tweet

Aguerrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooo has in one fleeting moment made him one of the top 3 or 4 most famous and admired footballers in the world.

I am convinced if he can play in any condition on Sunday, he will want to.

None whatsoever, but we have some highly trained Physical analysts and body language experts on this thread I see. some expect 100% loyalty and commitment from players but when they are injured, don't we owe them some form of loyalty in not doubting their integrity when we have no evidence not to? Rather sad

He does himself no favours tweeting straight after he's come off in matches when presumably he's not had his injury properly assessed by the medical team. He has done it three times now and not only is it a bit tiresome but I guess some people are taking his tweets at face value and then wondering why he isn't playing when he's said he's fine. That aside though, you're right, he deserves more respect than for people to assume he's shitting out of matches of this magnitude.

I'm actually convinced he has no idea what "precaution" means, shouldn't be so quick to tweet after but he was probably relieved it was't too serious with how bad its been this season.^ Agree 100% with DD above, get well soon and hope to see you on Sunday Sergio!

He's Argentinian. They literally have no idea how to do anything but play at 100%.

I don't doubt his commitment to the club - if the player says he's not fit and the physios concurr then you have to respect that decision.

I am worried about next season though. We simply can't have another repeat of this season where we have 2 strikers (arguably our 2 best strikers) unavailable. If we keep the same 4 players in the summer and we have a similar situation going into January I honestly think we need to evaluate whether we sell Aguero as it will have been the third season where he has simply missed too many games. I hope this doesn't happen but the City management have to be thinking this too - if we had a player of Aguero's quality playing the sale percentage of games Suarez has played the league would have been ours weeks ago.

Yep.

Is there any actual evidence that Aguero isn't injured and is just saving himself for the world cup when he could be playing?

There's evidence to the contrary, unless he's an oscar-level actor, from Goodison.

He indicated to the bench he'd had a tweak. Looked pretty pissed off about it to me, too. Pellegrini spent the next few minutes urgently telling him to go down so he could be treated. Sergio ignored him, carried on playing and even got involved in play again. He kept looking at the bench, shaking his head, and indicating he'd try to run it off and they made him go down.

He will be desperate to appear on Sunday. Days like that are what players dream of.

I was surprised that he stayed on for a couple of minutes given his recent injuries and you're right the whole thing looked more like it was the club/management who are trying to protect him. After all, Sergio (or any other huge asset) continuing with a muscle injury until he is well and truly crocked doesn't help anyone regardless of whether it is a World Cup year or not. I still think he has to stop these tweets though. When I read that tweet I took it with a huge pinch of salt because we have heard it all before from him but inevitably some people assume he is going to be right this time and assume he is fine. I think then some get frustrated, question what is going on and it starts the ball of suspicion rolling.

Haha. I always ignore those Tweets, too. We've had a few.

The other things is, with an asset like Aguero (Silva is the same), if you are a brilliant manager you do pander to them to a degree, to ensure they don't fuck off to Barcelona. So if he's OK for tonight but with a 2% chance of a follow-on injury, and is expressing nerves he doesn't want to miss the decider and the world cup, then you might decide to take the call that resting him gets you more "buy-in" with him for the greater good.

As long as we don't lose the game and title, of course ;-)

If he isn't actually injured and got the World Cup on his mind, then it's pretty fucking shit. Pam is right, who pays his wages? We play a full season and it hangs on 2 crucial games and our best player is a bit cautious due to the World Cup. Don't care what he's done for us, still not right, I'm not suggesting selling him here just don't like the idea of this. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get.

I honestly think if he was fit he would be playing. I don't believe that the manager is giving him any preferential treatment in the event that there is a remote possibility of injury when we have such a masssive game tonight.
I do think that if this situation countinues next season we need to sell. He's a top player and we will struggle to find anyone anywhere near as good but we need strikers who are fit for most of the season and another season like this will stop us competing at the top level.

To the conspiracy theorists who think Kun isn't injured, can we expect to see Elvis and James Dean on the bench tonight??

Kun's injury is all more the reason to get behind our current number one striker , Edin Dzeko. Lets get behind the team and roar the Blues to the Title.
I know what you mean, someone will be suggesting that Jovetic is injured next.

Would that be slim Elvis (Jailhouse Rock era) or fat Elvis form the 1970s? Would he be able to wear his blue jump suit? Most importantly can he track back?

TBH I think we can take the risk against Villa. If Dzeko plays like he has the last couple of games, then IMO it won't be a problem.
